Lyn, am so sad to see Alfie has crossed rainbow bridge.  I visit seldom these days but still feel for my Purrs pals when time parts us from our beautiful babies.  My love to you.

Oh Lyn,

I'm so sorry I missed this.  Sincere condolences on the loss of your handsome black Panther Alfie.

There really is no love like the love from "your" cat.

RIP Alfie, go and find Rossi and all the other Purrs babies who will look after you.
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Yesterday, we made the difficult decision to help our beloved Alfie cross Rainbow Bridge.

It doesn't seem long since  2012 when, having got lost, he came to stay with us temporarily until we could find his owners. He lay on my chest and gazed into my eyes for the first couple of days. After that, he was mine and I was his (we did find his owners and they agreed to let us keep him).

Alf was big, black, sleek and daft. Murderous to local rodents (he caught his last rat - and left the bloody remains on my lounge carpet- just 3 days ago), he was loving with hoomans. Mind you, the scars on my arms attest to the fact that he was also known to play rough! He never stopped lying on my chest and gazing into my eyes; I was his and he mine and nothing will change that.

3 weeks ago he was diagnosed with renal disease and we were hopeful that he would have a few good years left with us. However, things progressed very quickly and yesterday we found that both kidneys were very abnormal, probably due to lymphoma. The vet felt that he was starting to suffer, and that the rapid progression made it likely that even palliative treatment would be ineffective, so we decided to say Goodbye while he was still the Alf we knew and loved.

Rest in peace my beautiful boy.
