I don't use collars on my cats either since the advent of microchips.

My vet advised me not to put any collar at all to my cat, it is just sometimes the humidity is trapped in between the collar and cause my cat something like an infection on her neck.

I would have thought it was one of the plasticky things rather than a fabric one with a reflective strip stitched on, but the newspaper wasn't clear.

That is terrible, thanks for the warning!

Alf, being black, used to have a reflective collar - until he decided not to wear one! I know that BFF's furkids all wear collars, I must check what they are made of  . . .

A cat was taken to a vet in Milton Keynes with severe burns after his reflective collar melted into his skin in the hot weather. :'(
