A lot has changed for both Gill and all the cats since she last posted on the thread - it's all on the A-team thread to catch up.  I think she did manage to get him tested (can't remember how she managed it!) and his results came back okay. :)

Gill - check out Alison's thread - I think Alison has posted a link to a cab firm who may be able to help.  Worth giving them a ring.  I don't think they're your conventional cab co - also I think it was Susanne who found a number for someone in your area who does pet transport runs (and gardening services) - you may not have seen them, so take a look.

THE INS WILL NOT PAY FOR HOME VISITS AND MY VET CHARGES A FORTUNE FOR ANYONE TO COME OUT DUE TO MY LOCATION. MISA IS HARD TO GET BLOOD FROM AND VN WOUDNT BE ABLE TO DO IT ANYWAY.

YOU ARE RIGHT I NEED TO SEE HOW HE IS DOIND.

YES I HAVE A CAR BUT HAVE LOST THE FEELING IN RIGHT FOOT SO BEINGAN NAUTO THATS THE FOOT YOU NEED.  MALSO RIGHT NOW MY EYES ARE BAD AND AM AT AV NEXT WED.

I RFEALLY SHOULDNT EVEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE AND WAS A NIGHTMARE A WEEK OR SO AGO, USING LEFT FOOT ON BRAKE AND TRYING TO KEEP RIGHT FOOT OVER ACCELERATOR COS IF I ,OVED IT COULDNRT FIND IT AGAIN!

SO AM TOTALLY STUCK.

WAS HOPING TO GET HAND CONTROLS FOR CAR DONE VERY QUICKLY BUT THATS JUST A JOKE.

Do you not have a car at the moment or are you unable to drive?? Such a shame as he needs his blood test done so you can see how his T4 levels are.  What you need is a volunteer vet nurse who would come to you and take the blood, just a shame everthing is so flipping expensive these days!  Is there ay way you can claim through your insurance for a home visit or have you reached the max with the bills now?

YES I AM ABOUT 15 MILES FROM EVERYTHING AND THE CLOSEST VET HERE IF IT STILL EXISTS IS USELESS BUT EVEN THAT 5-10 MILES AWAY. WOULD BE OVER 15 MILES TO GET TO ONE IN CARMARTHEN BUT MY VET IS THE BEST AND ANOTHER 5 MILES NOTHING BY CAR ALONG M4.

WHEN I MOVED HERE NEVER THOUGHT OF ALL THE DOWNSIDES AND LEARNT TO DRIVE DURING FIRST YEAR BECAUSE DISCOVERED I WAS STRANDED WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO, WAS LUCKY PASSED FIRST TIME SO WAS DRIVING IN A YEAR AND 2 MONTHS!

I agree with Sue Gill, having a helping hand has made my mother in law a lot more content just picking up prescriptions and things it has taken a huge weight of her mind and let her concentrate on the things she likes doing - I know you don't mind your own company but sometimes only another human will do

I thought he would have settled down by now :( Have you tried earplugs? our cat moses keeps howling on and off during the night not so bad now as I got a gel pad i heat in  microwave and it has a cover so put it on bed and he curls up and sleeps more. think its a combination of arthritis and a bit of feline dementia he is 18/19.Can you get an Asda  or similar shop food delivered to you and get your cat litter that way?

HE NEEDS A BLOOD TEST I THINK IN A COULE OF WEEKS BUT NEED TO WORK OUT AND IS GONNA DEPEND ON HOW I AM AND WHETHER I CAN DRIVE.

I NEED CAT LITTER AND DUE TO COLLECT ON THUR BUT AGAIN DONT KNOW IF I CAN GET THERE BUT HAVE WARNED JIM THAT IF HE HERES A CAR HONKING IT WILL BE ME COS TOO FAR FOR ME TO WALK!

I AM JUSTSO TIRED YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE COS MISA WILL NOT LET ME SLEEP LONGER THAN 2 HOURS.

When I picked up the Advocate I saw cat muzzles at the vets, Debbie and I had a good laugh at them, they would probably stop the shouting, but good luck trying to get one on :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:.
]

When we took Moses the Devil Cat to the vet, he needed a blood test, but he would not co-operate. Out came the cat muzzle, and no way could they get it on him, he turned into a whirling dervish of teeth, jaws, spittle and devil howling! Had to stay in, in the end, to be sedated! Although the muzzle did look a bit

HAVE SPOKEN TO AARTI AT LANGFORD AGAIN AND NEWS MUCH BETTER  ;D ;D

MISA HASNT REALLY BEEN SICK, ONLY A BIT OCCASIONALLY AND CAN BE ANY FOOD, ESPECIALLY DURING THE NIGHT WHEN HE WAS I THINK DELIBERATELY SICK BY MY HEAD,TRYING TO WAKE ME UP.......HE SUCCEEDED IN GETTING ME TO MOVE FAST!

ANYWAY SHE IS VERY IMPRESSED THAT THE EFFECTS OF THE METACAM ARE STILL THERE 4 DAYS SINCE HAVING ANY AS SHE SAYS NORMALLY THE EFFECT WOULD WEAR OFF IN 24 HOURS.

MISA IS GOING UP STAIRS, WAS UP THERE ABOUT AN HOUR AGO AND USING TRAY UP THERE. HE IS CLIMBING ALL OVER THE SOFA, DOWN THE BACK , ON TO THE TOP AND BACK DOWN AGAIN. THE STEP UP FROM THE BOX IS HIGHER THAN MY STAIR STEP!

HE IS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I HAVE HAD HIM WALKING WITH MUCH LONGER STRIDES AT THE BACK.

AARTI SAYS THIS IS VERY GOOD AND THEREFORE TO LEAVE HIM OFF THE METACAM AND MONITOR HIM. IF HE STARTS TO GET WORSE AGIN TO PUT HIM BACK ON, MAYBE AT A LOWER DOSE.

I REALIZED LAST NIGHT THAT THE DOSE HE HAS HAD FROM LANGFORD AT 3.75 IS MUCH HIGHER THAN I THINK HE EVER HAD BEFORE.......1.75 TO 2.00......SO MAYBE WHY THE BIG DIFFERENCE IN HIS MOVEMENT. SO SAD THAT I HADNT KNOWN THIS BEFORE.

SO IT SEEMS THINGS ARE GOOD AND IF ALL STAYS THAT WAY HE WILL NEED A BLOOD TEST IN ABOUT 5 WEEKS.

HE IS STILL SHOUTING AT ME BUT THINK ITS BECAUSE HE WANTS SOMETHING AND IS DETERMINED TO MAKE SURE I TAKE NOTICE BUT PROBLEM IS ITS MOSTLY AT NIGHT AND GOT NO SLEEP LAST NIGHT AT ALL COS WAS EXPECTING HIM TO WAKE ME AS SOON AS I DOZED OFF AND COULDNTGET TO SLEEP.

JUST TO ADD TO THE FUN SASA AND LUPIN BOTH DECIDED TO SLEEP DOWN HERE TOO AND USUALLY SASA SNORES WOULD MAKE ME SLEEP!

BEWARE PAULA THE NEXT STAGE ON FROM THAT IS NOT GOOD  :shify: :shify:

WHEN KOCKA DIDNT SUCCEED WITH THAT SHE THEN TRIED TO HOOK THEM OPEN VERY GENTLEY WITH A CLAW.............AMAZINGLY I WAS INSTANTLY AWAKE

Okay, now I am very afraid. At least it was very gently, I would be instantly awake too. I don't think Bob does gentle! :scared:
