At least your babe will stay where s/he is put for some time! After that, baby gates come in very handy in keeping cat out of reach of little fingers when they need some space.

Good luck with your new arrival. I sincerely hope you have a delivery like I had with my two girls. I woke up when their heads 'crowned' one 25 and one 45 minute delivery. No pain relief necessary, no stitches etc. and I am small. 6 stone 2lbs. Whatever you do don't listen to the horror stories that some ladies delight in telling you.

how exciting for you
When my first nephew was born I got a 'sounds soothing' CD which has screaming baby / kids playing noises to help acclimatise them to the sounds before the newbie arrives, looks like you can download it for free from Dogs Trust nowadays... scroll down to the 'Sounds Soothing' bit...

I was probably lucky with Barney and Sammy, I came home from hospital, fed them, they had a sniff decided that Daughter was nothing they were particularly interested in and pretty much ignored her. When she started to crawl and went after them I used to hold her hand to stroke them gently and if she went to grab, tapped (not smacked) her hand with two fingers and a sharp NO. That seemed to work quite well.
Congratulations on your new arrival again
, A Purrs baby, how exciting.

Congratulations on either model

In approximately one month's time my hubby and I will be welcoming a baby into our lives. Does any one have any tips on making this a stress free transition for our cats? Baby training tips welcomed!
