Tips for putting on weight

I get my Complivit from the vets for ease but it can be got on Vetmed or similar - my record is 200gms in a week on a kitten who nearly died he is now 2 and my Hudson Mau

I always thought encore was applaws made for Sainsbury's? Is that not the case?

Thanks, I don't think I've tried Encore. And I've never heard of Complivit - can you only get it from vets?

Complivit food supplement from the vets kept some of my lot alive added to their wet food daily - 1 pump is equal to a full days calories for a 4kg cat

Not for me (sadly!) but for Drum, who's losing weight slowly but surely.

Vet says it's probably due to her chronic kidney disease - although two years on from diagnosis, she's still drug-free and other than the weight loss and drinking a bit more than normal, she doesn't have any obvious symptoms. Vet recommended renal wet food so I tried giving her Hills tuna flavour but she treated it like poison - even a tiny amount mixed with her beloved Felix met with disgust.

What can I give her to get some weight back on? Is protein (such as cooked chicken) okay or will that be hard on her kidneys?

She seems happy enough, bless her - has a good appetite (as long as it's not expensive renal food!) and for her age (16 in September), she's in good nick.
