Thanks everyone, we just brought in 2016 together

I was using my laptop and she jumped on it so I picked her up and leaned back on the settee and this was about 11.55 p.m. and she stayed until about 12.15 a.m. when she caught her claw in my jumper and panicked, but she was ok.

Great news.

Just think how much more rewarding it is to get a timid cat to trust you. Frustrating at times but worth it in the end. She looks very comfortable.

OMG

The past 3 nights in a row, YES 3 nights in a row, Kitty has jumped up and laid on my chest. Last night was the 3rd time lucky as I had my camera handy.

I stroked her head and chin and she purred so loudly and she even let me rub her belly

Aw, that's wonderful news.

It took Bass three or four months to start coming out of her shell (and out of the wardrobe!), so I know how you feel. I can still remember the first time she jumped up on my lap and the first time she ran down the garden to me.

I adopted her on June 8th so it's only taken her 21 weeks and 5 days, nothing really is it?

Thanks everyone, I was rally pleased

BUT, last night I nearly had a heart attack...............................

I was sat on the settee and Kitty was on the laptop on top of the coffee table, I leaned back to have a stretch and I felt something on my thighs and then my stomach. IT WAS KITTY

She laid there on my stomach for almost a hour and even moved up to my chest for a bit. She even let me rub her head and her ears. Finally I had to pick her up and put her back on the lap top cos my back was killing me.

AND GUESS WHAT? ................ She came back about 20 minutes later and stayed again until I had to pick her up cos my back was aching.

Must put a cushion behind my back if I see her coming again. She's been in her box on the sofa bed all day

Vet phoned this afternoon and her bloods are PURRfect so she doesn't have to go back now for another 3 months
