If the poos are very hard then he could be dehydrated. I would check with vets.

Haha, maybe not a bad idea then. Freya is very outgoing but she can have fisticuffs with Gobi quite a bit so maybe she does need calming down too

Thanks Dawn, funnily enough, I've been looking at the 'calm' foods lately. Might be difficult to manage if Freya has to be on a different diet but definitely worth looking into.

I have a highly strung Bengal, we have been feeding royal canin calm food, see what the vet thinks about that, it has made tilly a lot more content, we have moved house and she settled very quickly

Royal Canin is dry and the Thrive is wet. Thanks for the replies. After a quick internet search, I suspect it could be an issue with his over grooming which I have discussed with the vet at length but have been told he's 'highly strung'. Will check with them.
EDIT: Will just add to this that they both went for their annual vet check at the end of October and after feeling his stomach etc, they didn't mention anything was amiss but I didn't mention his toilet troubles at the time as it wasn't really an issue then.

I think a vet check is needed cos he is very young still and if drinking loads I would be a bit worried.

The food you mention is it wet food?  If so  then water intake shouldnt be too high as water comes from wet food.

He is 6. When he was young, he was sick a lot. We ended up getting an ultrasound and biopsy and loads of tests. It turned out he was just a nervous 'sicky' cat.
He hasn't been sick for a while but this is a recent development.

Thank you Gill, he does drink quite a lot actually. He grooms a lot and sometimes I find fur in the waste so don't know if that is affecting it.
Kicking myself that I didn't mention it to vet yesterday when took Freya in for a limp / bite on leg. Will get on to it.

I think you need to at least speak to a vet but if he is not drinking, definately.

My boy Gobi has started leaving ahem poo around the house. The problem appears to be that he is having trouble with it fully exiting his system in the litter tray and is dragging it around the house (sorry).
After inspecting his deposits, I've noticed they are very hard which leads me to believe he is constipated.
We feed them Royal Canin Siamese and Thrive complete. They drink from water bowls and water fountains around the house. Do you think the issue could be lack of exercise?
