Oooooo I see she's arrived home! How's she settling in?
I think the crate's an excellent idea while she's getting used to her new surroundings, as it gives her a place she will learn is her own if she wants to beat a retreat.
And I agree - kittens can get into the tiniest of places, so double check everything, and get all family members to remember to put the lid down on the toilet seat and/or keep the bathroom door closed. Likewise, make sure the door to the washing machine and/or tumble drier is always kept shut when not in use.
I would say that kittens are best kept inside until after they've been neutered too, but I think Emma is planning on Khaleesi being an indoors only cat because of her surroundings. (If I'd have been able to keep ours as indoor only, I certainly would have!)
One's a great start, especially when you aren't used to kkittens and their wily ways
but I think if you do decide to get her a companion of her own kind, I'd do it sooner, ratehr than later. Cats can get very set in their ways, and find it harder to adjust to sharing space and territory as they get older.
But for now - can't wait to hear how you're getting on, and to see piccies.
