History: Maddie came into rescue very reluctantly because of her previous owner developing a medical condition that means that she is now under care herself. Her daughter took Maddie in, but Maddie is a very affectionate cat that loves attention and her own family cat is extremely jealous - sadly despite everything they still cannot get on, and given the home situation Maddie doesn't get all the attention she craves.
Maddie loves people, and although she is currently getting used to new surroundings she is very happy with brand new people and nuzzles up to them. She loves sleeping next to you on the bed, and has a little chirpy mew to chat to you. She is very much a lap cat, and is interested in what you're up to. She has met both my children, a 4 year old and a 6 year old, and she was nuzzling up to them happily. She probably wouldn't get on too well with a lot of shouting and running around as she's just not used to it. She will also let you know if she's had enough with a little pop of the paw, although as it seems to have a slight amount of claws probably best to stay away from very young children - she's not intending to hurt anyone, it just seems that she doesn't realise that we don't have thick fur! She will come if you call her and is a little purr factory
Untested with dogs, although i suspect she probably wouldn't get on with them.
She has been an only cat with her previous owner, and has not really settled with other cats - she is still wary of my flump of a cat (although to be fair he looks like the daughter's family cat, who did really dislike her, and it hasn't been too long since she arrived) and has been hissing and growling at him. However, given her diva like ways, she would probably appreciate being the sole cat in the household for all the fusses - she certainly wouldn't be panicking without a companion.
Maddie has been an outdoor cat, and she does love watching the birds. She is quite active in the household, graceful and good at jumping and getting everywhere, so she would enjoy a prowl. She was fed on tuna and some IAMs dry food at her last home, but has also accepted some Felix "As good as it looks" fishy recipes as well.
