You're absolutely right, they don't.  Its gorgeous and so well made. I was bidding on it as a gift for my niece but I don't think I can part with it.

I've been knitting these for friends as Christmas presents so decided to put one in the auction. Made in Sirdar Snowball (colour is Berry), an ultra soft fleece like yarn, it's lightweight & very snuggly. The pictures don't do it justice

EDIT: been asked to add the size.  It's current approx 7.5" wide by 70" long (excluding fringes) but as it's knitted on big needles it has a tendancy to relax and will end up being longer & thinner. I added a new photo of it next to my own pink version which I've been wearing, mine started off the same but now measures 6.5" wide and 80" long. The pile on the auction scarf looks messy from where it's been squashed while rolled in a ball, it should fluff up like mine when you start using it
