in females it isn't as urgent but in males they need to be sorted quickly as they can block up - hopefully it is something that can be sorted out with anti biotics - also re cleaning you can buy specialist products but biological washing powder is recommended

I'm planning on taking her this weekend as it's only time we can both manage it as I don't drive, vets is far and partner won't be working.

Thanks for reply

Hi, unsure if this is in the right place or not :s please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a cat, Charlie, she was a stray cat but we've taken her in. I don't know an awful lot about her, but here's what I do know:

- Female
- Mistreated in the past
- Lived on streets since a kitten
- Doesn't like children

I noticed 6 months ago she was urinating in a various places, but only a small amount ( a few drops). I then encouraged her to drink lots and she went like normal in her litter tray. Maybe it was a UTI?  That's what I put it down to as we've never had that problem again.

Last week my partner came upstairs in a less than happy mood!  He said the cat had pee'd in the bathroom... I found this very unusual behaviour for her. I went to look and she had... How strange. Since then she's pee'd in the porch and spare room (both carpeted) but also the bathroom 3 times now (same spot). I've tried all I can to clean these spots, can't seem the shift the smell. Problem with the bathroom flooring is that it's hardboard that's been put down while we decorate. Its only temporary but it will be down for the next 6 or so months.
Also I've only seen her pee in the bathroom on two of the three occasions. First time she just looked like she was urinating normally, in the same position etc. Second time (about 20mins ago)  it looked as if she was spraying the way a male cat does?

Sorry if I've rambled on :( I really don't know what to do with her. My partner isn't happy about having a cat, this is just giving him more of a reason not to want to keep the cat.

Why is she doing this? Anything I can do to get her to stop?

I just would be grateful for any advice/answers/ideas you guys could come up with?

Thanks for taking the time to read
