Following the live export tragedy at Ramsgate in September rightly demanded a huge response from Compassion in world farming.

Together with the RSPCA, Compassion has submitted a petition that calls on the Government to cease immediately the live transport of farmed animals from British ports to continental Europe, and then change UK legislation to end live exports for good.
There is no need for the trade in meat from the UK to involve live animals. It should be on the hook and not on the hoof.
We need 100,000 people to sign the petition in order to show just how strong the opposition to this trade is. 100,000 signatures will require live export to be considered for a parliamentary debate. And this could result in a binding vote calling on the Government to end the trade.signatures so far 6,670
Please take just a few minutes to sign the petition and ask your friends and family to do the same. You may need to be patient with the Government website – but making your views known through the e-petition really can make a difference.
The e-petition is on an official government website – not on Compassion’s website. This means you will be sent an email to confirm that you are a ‘real person’ and not a computer. Be sure to check your spam / junk folder to ensure you validate your signature. Otherwise your signature will NOT count.
