I'm sure I've read that cod liver oil has too much vitamin A in it and can cause problems with the neck bones fusing: a very painful condition.

I've always avoided furball treatments which were cod liver oil based, prefering to drizzle olive oil on their food occasionally. I checked this out with the vet, who gave me the okay.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Thanks Amanda.

If you are looking for something to help with skin condition then have a look at this link.

I am pretty sure you do not need a prescription for this. My cat was on it and you just need one pump which can go on their food.

Thanks TM.

It's mainly for her coat. Very occasionally she looks like she's walking a bit stiffly but she has no problems jumping from/to heights.

Purrs doesn't like you searching for more than two words, it gives it a headache  :evillaugh:

I found this which basically says fish oil rather than liver oil is the way to go  ;D

Is it for her joints or her coat?

I've tried to run a search on it but every time I do, the site just hangs! (This doesn't happen when I search on one word.)

Quick question: is it safe to give cod liver oil to cats?
