in words you'd understand,
We wanted you to stay with us.
This wasn't what we'd planned.

We wish somehow to tell you,
How empty we now feel.
A part of us went with you,
A part that time can't heal.

We wish we'd once more hear you,
in your softly, rumbling purr,
to hold you on our laps again
and stroke your long black fur.

We wish we had you back again,
to fill this empty space.
But one day we'll be together
in a far, far better place.

We always get our cats cremated and for me there are lots of mixed emotions picking up the ashes because it's very emotional and you anticipate that but at the same time you just want them back home with you - where they belong

Pav, things are bound to be hard with losing the two of them so close together - if your head is hurting due to being upset, make sure you drink enough, I found out when I lost Ginger how you can get dehydrated from crying. Just give yourself time, we are always here for you if you want to talk.
Thanks Desley, i took your advice and started drinking water, i didn't know you get dehydrated from crying. My head feels better tonight, thankyou.x
I went to my vet today to pay the bill, and asked if Phoebe's ashes are back and when they said not yet i was relieved, because i wasn't sure how i am going to deal with it i never had my babies ashes .
Thankx Ruth and Gillian for your posts. xx

I too have kept all the collars of my kitties and special toys of theirs and have all their ashes and they will be put with ours.  I still feel grieve and can't look at photos of Schui now and even think of him without getting tearful still but I'm sure the pain will ease in time as it has with all my cats and yours too Pav   but I still think of them all everyday and talk about them all the time too

I have kept all of Kockas things, I cant look at them but they are there if I want.

I so understand how you feel  and I wrote down exactly what i was thinking about Kocka each time I was upset and gradually it became a memory of her with the things I called her and her little tricks and stuff, poems and I have it all. I think it helps to keep their memory alive for the future however painful it is right now.

I never want to forget my little grey girl and she has the same Bridge Day as Phoebe, 4 years on and I still miss her so much despite having the four others.

I think its part of the grieving process which is so hard to go through. I couldnt sleep or do anything my heart was just totally broken.

I first stroked another cat 3-4 days later when I first met Misa and Sasa and that was the first time I felt a bit better but the pain is still with me now.

We are all hear for you and we will give you as much support as we can

Thanks trigger, i do that all the time but in my head not on paper.

Thankyou Tan, sadly with me i am not strong enough to keep any thing , it just hurt too much :( When i lost DD and Jim i took every thing to the rescue, i did take Boy's thing to mayhew as well but havent had the heart to do Phoebe's toys and beddings but will do this weekend. They are always in my heart and thoughts but its too painful to keep anything.
I know it gets easier and i am so grateful for all the support and kindness i am getting from every one, i really am . Thankyou.

   we all thinking of ya hunny

Thats a good idea of Tigger's to write about them.

With Rio i made a video with a very sad sound track and cried all the time but it helped give me time to spend near my babe as possible. The same for my Ben, my Ochi and Gizzymo. I have larged framed mosaic pictures in my lounge i made to help me be near them at my time of awful hurt.

Pav i still have all their collars under my pillow at night. I just can't let them go. They are a symbol of them being near me my boys :)

But hun it does get easier the pain of missing them , you do start to remember the soo good times with them more than the pain and they start to bring a glow to your heart.

Boy and Phebe aint gone hun they are watchin ya and with ya and one day (oh how wonderful that day will be) we will be able to pick them up and give them a huge cuddle.

we all understand Pav

have you thought of writing an account of their lives with you, starting with Boy perhaps

it would have  you in floods, but it might help to think about their lives, and not just about the end of their lives
