Hi Tan  :welcome: :welcome: back !

I firmly believe the disembowelling of our Prawn was instrumental in Theo's swing from Grumpuss to PornPuss!  :-[

His sex drive is back in spades and it coincided precisely with the de-commissioning of Prawnee (by Sly da sly) on the patio. The strewn herbs got rolled on for days when it was dry and sunny, the mucky-pink exoskeletal remains of poor Prawnee are still being ragged about (albeit I've confiscated the innards) so maybe even cat toys have nine lives.

To consolidate what you already knew, Tan, it was the felt that gave way under the unstoppable onslaught of Sly, Theo and more recently, Pollypops.

By the way, your blue/red bug has now taken the place of Prawnee and is almost as popular and the mole  :wow:

Right off to do some comfort shopping  :)

Ooo, I think a new order for a prawn is needed, as I came down one day ans found it disemboweled with parts scattered all over the floor!

Da Felt haz been dumped!!  Lol even with using the tripple thick felt we still have had some ripped so we have dumped using the felt for any toy around the body and only use it for legs or eyes or the sun's shines etc ie only decorative bits not around the main body of the toys.

We now use only the Faux fur ie the prawn is now all faux fur with poms for eyes and we also use a shorter plush faux fur on some toys which is also much stronger than the felt. :)

We will have in the coming month a new herb range direct from an organic farm in Canada :)  The new range will be called PurrMixeez as it's a mix of 4 potent natural herbs cat love. A pretty potent mix!  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: 1st over in the UK :)

Also new crotchet (knitted)  toys in 4 different  herb flavours  :evillaugh:

Also coming is a Purrs Interactive Rod toy in different herb flavours which after giving your babe lots of exercise dashing about  can let them run off with the toy on the end of the rod for their prey catch prize.  :evillaugh:

  • Nutty About Kitten-Cats!!
  • Slave to: Nuggie (& until recently Tazi x)...& Peanut "de Poirot"!
My Boys have just received the mouse (plus other toys *sigh* lol) and a massive thank you to Tan for the Ice-cream... :Flowers: :Flowers: which went down a treat!  ;D ;D

I shall get photos!!
Nuggie drooled at the parcel as normal and he gleefully flopped over the mouse and gave it a good kicking  :evillaugh:
Peanut was then able to get a good go at the ice-cream which was bunny-kicked for quite some time  :-: but lasted the pace and lives to be kicked another day  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

I must say that I purchased the Firework a while back and that too remains in tact....? Not sure if my two go for it with as much vigor as others lol but whenever Nuggie has had a hard day at the office he kicks 10 bells out of it instead of - i presume - Peanut  and as he is notoriously grumpy then this is quite often?

As mine havent ripped the guts out of any, I find these a great buy  ;D ;D but for the price, if they got a couple of months worth out of them, before being destroyed then i'd still be happy! No other toys have ever gotten that reaction and happy boys means a less haggered mammy  :evillaugh:
I also replace the "Da Bird/Mowse" Attachments about as often as that (Peanut cries for these toys) and again, for the price and the exercise the cats get i cant complain

 ;D ;D

Thanks again for the Ice-cream Tan!! The Boys Love it  ;D ;D ;D
(photos coming soon)

The same happened to the felt bit on my the boys' prawn, I think becuase they pull at it with their teeth and also bunny kick it. Another solution could be a layer of bedsheet type material under the felt which would stop the contents escaping if the felt succumbed to the attack!

hello! just an update on the toys....

kitties are getting more confident on the treat board, and prawnzy is still getting lots of love from chloe.

so much, the felt has been ripped several places in the back, and stuffing appears to be leaking from him... i'm just waiting for valerian pieces to start appearing around the house!

Tan - would it be possible to have the same faux furry material on the top of the prawn, as on the bottom? it seems a bit more robust and i think chloe is purposely kicking the felt backing!!!

Cheers!

New toys have been ordered to go to the new address, will warn my fiance's family to expect a smelly parcel! I knew if I got them ordered to here then they would have the toys early, before they moved, as I have no will power and am just as excited as the cats will be!

toys have arrived!!!

as expected, they were very interested in the bag, and then the box.... so once I weaned them off that, i showed them what was in the bag and the box.

Fonzie (full tabby) immediately stole the prawn from Chloe (tabby and white) and then when he got bored with it let her have it back.

The same scenario played out over the cat treat board. Fonzie understood the concept much quicker, and Chloe just stared at it until I put food right at the end..... both have only managed to work out the wave section yet, so I'll see how they get on over the next few days!

apologies if the pictures are big!!!

:wow:  Wonderful pics  :wow: ;D ;D   :evillaugh:  me lads caught on to the waves bit 1st too and then the hooky out squares then stick my paw in the tunnel bit the cups came last  :evillaugh:

Blimey Tan - I didn't realise exactly how much effort and hard work goes into their creations (I think I believed they simply "materialised" like Klingons on the Starship Enterprise...  :evillaugh:)

So, why can they not be finished off with the needle if the stuff's near the edge?  Is it like drug enforcement stuff (or have I been watching too much CSI Miami?)  ;D

Good point hun I will ask Sandra. I think it's cause it's quicker to sew the edge with the machine and a stronger than hand sewing the edge off. Some of the toys have more detail so take a bit longer to make hence the difference in price between the different designs.  the quicker one is to make the cheaper i can sell them at :) We have just got some more fleece for the Twists (knotties) so they will go back in stock soon :)

What we are doing  is to make fun, different designs and good sized, quality toys in valerian and catnip on par to the yeowww toys but also will do the cheaper to make toys like the twists that are cheaper price to buy to provide variety in costs.

The cutey Prawns are doing well!  ;D Thanks for the orders
Thanks Sam hun for the review  :)  Wonderful to hear Gorgeous  MacBeenz enjoying his Prawnz  ;D ;D ;D

Any info or feedback on the toys and pics are most very welcome  ;D ;D The great ting is if a design doesn't work we can change it and i loove coming up with the new designs. Sandra came up with the skunk idea esp for the valerian flavour and guess where the some of the valerian is in the skunks body!!  :bum: :hee hee: If you would like to see a particular toy design then i'm all ears :)  :allears:   ;D

We've also just put up some super new refills/attachments that are compatible with the Da Bird rods :) There is one that is an alternative for the Rabbit fur Da Bird refill and made from Faux Fur strips  ;D We have also a new wand called the Flying Frenzy which is similar to the Da Bird rod with a more flexible rod and cheaper version. This can fit into a large letter envelope as the wand can be bent easily so also cheaper on shipping cost.

Yes, Tan we've got knotties - valerian, catnip and honeysuckle all variously loved by various cats, and all still intact - a veritable miracle as we've had these since last summer!

In our house of delinquents, the knitted toys seem to last best of all. Our wiggly waggler is Sly's favourite chewing toy as he can get his back legs involved in the rip-tear movements (no bunny kicks - just heave!), but so far he hasn't managed to crack it open. Tufty also made friends with the Catnip knitted pumpkins we got a year last October, and these are still doing great (except Tuffs did pull their eyes out so they're now really scarey).

The other great thing about the woolly ones is they trap herbs in the knit, so are easily refreshed just by popping them in a bag with some catnip and shakin 'em up.

The vet did comment on how incredibly clean Sly's teeth are, and was amazed when we told him that Sly flosses regulary on woolly toys.  ;)

Here's Tufty with the fireworks xx

Ooooh my Tinks loves the Valerian pillow   :evillaugh:

If I'd have know she'd like it so much I'd have found her a sweaty sock before now although I'm sure the underlying stench scent is totally different though.   How she can snuggle up in her bed with it though lordy knows  :-:  :evillaugh:

What we put with eh :Luv:  (thankfully the smell does go with time).  I'll pop a photo on later.

Mornin hunnies  ;D ;D

Cooo thanks hun i haven't changed the link on the shop pic on here! Ooops the shop has been on a new site for ages now  :shy: :shy: Better get that changed hey! Gosh i am a nutter!

Lol Shelia Da wonderful Sly certainly don't like to be beaten by the toys! Hmm that's a challenge then! lol we will have to try and design one he cant get into then!  :evillaugh:
I got it wrong and was told off by my mate Sandra who is the one that makes them from scratch and she said the older felt was made with 30% wool and 70% viscose but the new stuff we have got is 100% polyester felt which is much stronger, then the we also use the Faux fur material of different lengths and colours.
Lol the knotties/Twists were made with the older felt so not as strong as the new felt range but they don't have any filling in them. Has Sly got into one of those hun?

lol looks like Sly will be our top tester  ;) :evillaugh:

I wonder if there is a even stronger material to make a tough range? Anyone out there know about materials? Most of the cat toys are made from faux fur, wool or 100% Polyester with 90% filing and such a small bit of catnip and that's why the cats don't go for most catnip toys in shops! The better catnip toys are the ones that are mainly catnip inside. Much stronger smell for the cats to attract them.

The butterflys, prawns and Palm trees in the new range were tested with a cheeky little terrier Jack and with him pulling with his teeth and no breaks so far lol I let him keep the butterfly and he still has it and takes it to bed with him.  :evillaugh: :Luv: The butterfly has felt wings and faux fur body.

One other thing we could do is make a valerian /catnip mix toys that have 99.9 % herb inside like the catnip versions (Purrnipeez)  already so they still have the hit of the valerian but only a little bit of stuffing in the toy at a finishing edge .  If any cats do get into the toys then it has a load of natural catnip and bit of valerian which is safe to eat.  The sewing needle can't finish off the last edge if there is catnip or valerian near to it so we have to put a very small amount of stuffing right near that edge to seal the toy off.

Thanks so so much for the pics.  ;D ;D Gosh Nuggie and Denzel are lovely  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: Is there any captions you would like with their pics on the shop?  ;D

Thanks for the orders  :Luv: :Luv: will get going on em soon :) before me client arrives as i have a teaching day tomorrow  :tired:

I ordered  got a set of cat cubes, one Trixie activity board, and a prawn for my lot.

I'm trying to get a bit of weight off my girl, and we've used nina ottoson dog toys in the past, but she really struggles with them because if she cant physically see the food she just stares at it and walks away. (better than the meowing at it she used to do!)  I've tried the slimcat ball, but again, she hasn't quite grasped the concept of it! I'm hoping that she will see the food in the board and then figure out how to eat out of it. The boy cat is much smarter than her, and he has already figured out a few of the nina ottoson toys, and the slimcat ball!

the girl also powers through the cubes, using them as cover for ambush attacks, while the boy just uses it as a comfortable bed - resting his head on the lip of the entrance! And, of course, the dog sees them as great fun, as sometimes there is a cat either behind, or inside of it!

We're gonna have to stick to Knotties, Tan. Yet another toy has fallen victim this morning - Sly has managed to pick open his Purrwiffeez fireworks.

This is in no way a reflection on the build quality of these toys, Tan - I think he's nominated himself as destruction tester. He literally sits there for hours heaving at them between his teeth and paws until they just give up. It's like watching a miniature version of a lioness tearing open a psychadelic antelope. He's simply unstoppable. Only when it is fatally wounded and bleeding herbs will he finally leave it alone.

This one lasted about 6 days in total (they go in and out of the cupboard for longevity) which is 600 % longer than poor Chrissy Tree  :'(

There's drool all over the floor where everyone has had a roll  in the herbs. Theo keeps finding invisible butterflies and chasing them round the kitchen (good stuff this valerian!)

I love the prawn....!!!    :evillaugh:  Mac  has only recently discovered the delights of these extra powerful catnip and valerian drugs and when I was in the garden cutting back the catnip last week, he looked like someone who'd just had a lightbulb moment as he realised that "the smell" was outside in his very own garden too!  :wow: :evillaugh:

I'd definitely get him a prawn......   :wow:
