I do hope that the kittens are safe
I have just finished reading a book  called "Moon Cottage cats" so this subject is in my mind  I would have enjoyed the book if the writer hadn't been of the "just let her have one litter" persuasion!   It makes me so cross and I expect everyone on Purrs will agree with me

they sound like responsible people so imagine hopefully that they did check for kittens,  unfortunately there are people who let there cats breed without a care and then poor mummy ends up like this :-:

if it wasnt for people like this who do take action i imagine the mummy cat would have ended up pregnant again very soon...sadly i had a friend like that who had a house of kittens each time i visited, if you mentioned neautering then she would go mad >:(

When I fostered last year the Mum was spayed as soon as the rescue found her, the kittens were only three weeks old. The Mum seemed to be ok and carried on feeding them. Seemed a bit of a shame but it's always a worry they could get pregnant again.

I guess if she isn't spayed she is likely to be expecting again already.
I do hope her kittens are safe :(

It doesnt sound like they have looked for any kittens  :(

However if she isnt spayed she will just get more kittens so think they have no choice

Just saw this on NPR:

surely if she still has milk she must have kittens somewhere so too early to spay???
