They are absolutely adorable and this time last year, I would have snapped them up cos back then we were looking for two older cats. I really wish people would consider oldies, they have so much going for them!
You can't change the world by rescuing one cat, but for that one cat you are changing its world.

Thanks for the advice. I have got them sneaked onto a press release that our shelters main fundraiser is writing. I only hope the paper uses it as it's never guaranteed. I think maybe the press releases only get used if the paper has a gap to fill or the story fits into something else they are writing about.

...but I took some more photos of them both and thought I'd share them here.
I think Petra was a model in her youth! She sat the their patiently the whole time one dainty paw placed in front of the other.

Aww bless them :care:

I wonder if it's worth asking the local paper to do a mini-appeal for them?

Petra and Stanley. HOMED
« Reply #1 on: July 18, 2011, 14:43:59 PM »
I am really hoping to find a home for these two. Stanley and Petra who came to Haworth Cat Rescue when their owner died. Stanley is ginger and he is 18 years old and Petra, his friend, is black and white and aged 15. They are the shelter's current longest term residents and very few people go to look at them when they hear how old they are and that they need to be re-homed together. It is such a shame because they are two of the most sweetest cats and in spite of their age are both lively, aware and in good health with super soft coats. They both like people, Stanley often rubbing his face against the pen when I walk past. When they arrived they easily settled in and like to spend the day together, out sunbathing on the chairs in their pen.

I would really like to see them go to a good home. If anybody knows someone who would be interested please get in touch or direct them to the website http://www.haworthcatrescue.org/ Haworth Cat Rescue would meet any age related veterinary costs for both cats for the rest of their lives. ;D ;D
