Some look rather rickety, but as long as they will support the cat, but not a catburglar, it serves its purpose.....

Wow that Blog has some amazing cat ladders, lots of great ideas, some of them look a bit precarious don't they? I love the lift idea.

Jiskefet - That's exactly the sort of thing I was envisaging.

Have found the pic of the one I saw on CC...

When we lived on the 1st floor, we used to have a cat ladder, something like this, fropm the balcony to the ground.

This site gives you many more options, most of them are very easy to make.

Yes I think both of the ideas are possible, I'll look into and let you know how I get on. Hopefully the people downstairs will be ok with it.

Thanks Tiggy's mum, I think I'll have to get down to B and Q and buy some wood. Looks like the walkways on the link are really expensive anyway so out of the question. I'm probably not going to let the kittens out till next spring so it will give me some time to design and build some kind of ramp/walkway.

Would a piece of decking board with thin batons nailed to it for ladder rungs fit the bill? Not as fancy as the ones in the link but much cheaper and very simple to do!

I live in a first floor flat at the moment and the back of the house is overlooking a garden. It would be really great if I could rig up some king of walkway for the cats to get down from the window. Has anyone tried to do this? I've seen a few Australian and American websites but can't see anything in the UK. This is the kind of thing I was looking at
