She sounds like she is not feeling well and that could be the meds and if so, no feliway will not help.

Have you done a search on the meds to see what the side effects are?  Worth doing if you havent.

Thank you everyone, i am concerned for the skin and also the bloating and thought the tablets i was given for her skin may have been causing the bloating!? but the vet said this is not a side effect.
she dosnt seem as bloated today but still seems quite miserable although the skin seems to be healing nicely on her legs, she eats, drinks and toilets normally which i surpose is a good sign?
She just seems so miserable at the moment and have been recommended the Feliway?? has anyone tried this?

Is it definitely bloating? Or could it be a digestion issue? I'm going to have to ask....how's the toileting? (For the cat, obviously.)

Think about it....if you're in discomfort, you may well distance yourself because you're feeling disgruntled. Animals sometimes do the same. I have a friend whose cat literally runs away from her when he feels ill. That's how she knows to be worried and has to try and get him to the vets while he's hell bent on running in the opposite direction!

I would be worried about the bloating and this really needs to be seen by a good vet.............do you have another one you can go to?

Bloating is never a good sign. How long has she been like this, has the vet seen it?

Is she pulling the hair out herself do you know? Is she biting or scratching the patches at all?
Have the vets suggested possible causes or the next route of care? Blood tests, biopsy, skin scraping?
Have you done any research on the internet into possible causes or into the medication you have been given, to see what it is commonly used for?
If this vet can't help any further do you have another you could take her to for a second opinion?

It could be a number of things really; ringworm, mites, an allergy, the list goes on. My dog had two bald patches on his flank in exactly the same spot on either side and it just turned out to be a hormonal thing!

She was spayed at 6 months, the bloating is about half way down her body and on her sides rather than a hanging tummy?

Hi, i am a new user to this website.
After a few trips to the vets im starting to wonder wether it would be best to ask cat lovers their veiws rather than throwing money away...
So, My 10 month old Cat Mitzy started with 2 small patchs on her legs that slowly became more bald after a few weeks became sore and raw. i took her to the vets and they were unsure what it was! but we had 2 weeks antibiotics, still no better she was given steroids and more antibiotics.
They seem to be drying out and getting better but she seems very tired and bloated? i have been told this is not a side effect of the tablets (Prednisolone and Ceporex)
I just dont no what to do! we have already paid nearly £200 for what seems to be not that much better and as for the bloating and not wanting to be our friends seems strange? Can anyone help? please?
