Some wise bird once said "Rules are for the obedience of fools and guidance of wise men."

You did a wonderful thing all round, and what a beautiful legacy for her two lost ones, to welcome such a gorgeous boy into a loving home.

Ela this comes down to the right feeling and in this case the fosterer was the best choice and given her tragic loss of her 2 babies I am sure Fudge will be the best medicine for her.

Fudge has a wonderful home will be joined by another baby and those folks will get the cat right for them.

Nope it was the right thing to do in my minds eye and one I have done to :Luv:

On Saturday I received e-mail from one of our members  Maureen enquiring about a cat (Fudge) we had on our site as one of her cats (Chester) had suddenly become ill and needed to be PTS that morning. Someone else had a little while before also shown an interest in Fudge, but the fosterer was at work so had not got back to them. Also they did not live in our area so the homing process would have taken much longer and the fosterer is away later this week for a couple of weeks and we never home a fosterers cat while they are away.  Now whenever anyone shows an interest in a cat it is never offered to another person. It is always first come first served so to speak, (unless of course that person is not suitable). Gut feeling told me the the second caller (Maureen) was the right home Fudge although the first person to ask about Fudge seemed delightful. The events a couple of days later proved it was right. Arrangements were made to view Fudge last night and he immediately ran up to Maureen as if he had known her all her life. The sad bit is that yesterday morning Maureen's remaining cat Abbie went to the vet for a dental,   the vets phoned at 10i sh to say that a tumour had been found under her tongue and the kindest thing would be to pts...(she is now at the side of Chester  in Maureens  back garden with flowers on their little graves).

I am pleased that I broke my own code of practice in this instance and I am sure Fudge will help the healing process for Maureen and her family.  I also think the it won't be long before Fudge has a brother or sister and even better news is that it will not be a young cat.
