so the earlier the better.None of mine have ever been fussed about it- my own 2 boys i swear didnt notice at all, the younger fosters have been abit fazed but i would guess more from the GA than any actual discomfort. the older fosters can be abit tentative when sitting for a few hours but they forget all about it once theyve had a sleep
The op itself apparently takes minutes and involves a very small incision which is glued after so no stitches required. standard GA instructions will be to withhold food and water from set times (you will be advised) and to offer small light meals after- theyre quite often very hungry after.
