After helping Jacko find a new home, I was informed yesterday of an older Siamese lady who was taken into the vets for PTS after her elderly owner died. Thankfully, she was signed over, and I'm hoping a home/rescue placement is imminent for her...
Now there's another
I've just been to visit the osteopath, who is opposite where I used to work as a vet nurse. I called in to see friends, and they have another stray boy in. Mid-late teens, who was examined and very wobbly when he first came in. As usual, the RSPCA wouldn't offer anything towards his treatment (no amount that would help, anyway) so blood tests have not been run to determine if there is an underlying problem causing his wobbly gait.
He is a good weight and a stunning tuxedo boy with a grey chin! He has the most amazing amber speckly eyes
He is staying there for his 7 day period, in case an owner comes forward, but if not, I said I'd have him. I lost my old lady, Maggie Moo, on the 13th May, so I have space for one with probable meds requirements. We are wondering is he's got out from somewhere/owners on holiday, as he has a decent coat, trimmed nails and a gold collar. He must have an owner, I only hope they phone round the vets. I mentioned running a little something in the local paper too, as they used to do when I was there, so someone might recognise him.
If not, he'll have a home here (just hope he likes other cats/dogs etc!)
It just makes me so, so upset with all the unwanted cats/animals. I am very partial to the oldies - I love their personalities and quirky little ways! I just think it's long overdue that something was sorted to get to the root problems, and the big organisations setting up a mass neuter/voucher scheme would be a ideal, in my opinion.
Anyway, I'll post a pic of this boy, and I've got everything crossed that an owner comes for him in the next 3 days.
