Thankyou everyone for your kind words!

When we first moved I kept him in for 2 weeks and he had been here 6 weeks altogether before he vanished and he seemed quite settled along with his sister but I guess he missed the old house. I will take all of your advice and keep him in again as long as possible and not let him out of my sight!!

Thankyou all again!!

Woo Hoo .... excellent news.  So pleased he is home safe and well.  I agree with Helen, he definitely needs to be kept indoors for as long as you can (we usually recommend up to 6 weeks) so he can bond with the new house.

I will move this thread to the sorted section now.

:wooooo: that's fantastic news, sooooo pleased for you  ;D

 :welcome: back Wylie

What a clever (but naughty!) boy to find his way back to your old house. Definitely worth keeping him in for a few weeks to try and get him more bonded to teh new house.

 :wow: WYLIE IS HOME!!!

I got a phone call an hour ago from the people who bought our old house saying he was in the garden and then he went through the old cat flap and started eating their dogs food! He's lost abit of weight but seems healthy and has just been tucking into some chicken  ;) I'll never know how he made it all the way back there and I hate to think how scared he was through all the recent thunderstorms over the past two weeks but at least he's home now.

:thanks: Thankyou to everyone for sending out your hope and good vibes and for guiding him to safe place!

Wylie's mum - my Jazz is just home after five weeks away so i know the pain you are going through now.
Don't worry about putting posters up - I heard that for my area too but the police passed me several times putting posters up and never said anything plus a few people said they had seen council workers putting up posters that had fallen down. My posters were up for five weeks and I was never asked to take one down.
There are LOADS of foxes at my bit - including a very brave one that comes almost up to the door :( - as there is a lot of farmland around here. My farmer friend said it is very likely that you would find the wee soul if a fox was the cause of his disappearance so please try not to imagine the worst!
I hope Wylie comes home very soon.

Hi, have placed posters everywhere, knocked on doors and searched every day. Someone told me there are lots of foxes in the area and it's been over a week now.....I don't think he's coming back  :(

So sorry Wylie is missing, he may be heading back to his old home.  Have you done the posters etc en route to your old home?

Hope you find him very soon

Many thanks for your kind words, your help and for the welcome.

I have never known him jump in a car, infact he hates cars as we have found out on trips to the vets!

No sign of Wylie as yet and have been round knocking on doors again and searching the area. Have been leaving food out for him (fresh fish now!) and items of my daughters clothes but no luck so far. My daughter has printed out some posters but we are abit worried about putting them up as we heard on the news in January that someone was contacted by the council and told to remove them or they would face a fine. I guess a fine would be worth it though just to have him home again.

Hello and   :welcome:  to Purrs

So sorry that you have joined us at such a worrying time

Have you looked at Sam's tips:

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

Cats sometimes get locked in sheds, garages etc. so as much door knocking of neighbours as possible, unfortunately sometimes cats can jump into a car or lorry - does he ever do this?

I know it may sound obvious but are you leaving some food out for him?

Wylie is gorgeous and I am not surprised that you and your daughter and sister are worried about him

Please keep us updated

Please come home Wylie your mum is worried about you

Lost Black & white male cat in Lowestoft - HOME SAFE
« Reply #1 on: June 14, 2011, 01:26:19 AM »
Our 9 year old male cat, Wylie, has been missing since Friday 10th June. He is black with a white bib and paws and was last seen in the Yarmouth road area near tesco roundabout/back of parkhill near the farm.We have searched everywhere including near our old house in St.Margarets Road where we moved from 6 weeks ago. My daughter misses him very much and so does his sister. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
