I'd like to encourage anyone else to put some in too... especially when they know they live near other CatChatters... I can't afford to buy much and I've got nowt to sell but I can certainly auction a lesson or three!

OK: promises work like this.

You bid for it just like it was an actual thing. And then you pay Ron, just like it was an actual thing. And then I come and give you a violin lesson! Or whatever.

I've got two up now: one one-hour one which I could do fairly far away and a set of 4 half-hour lessons which would need to be somewhere reasonable to get to.

Oh, and take someone with you when you go to give the lesson unless it's one of the 'trusties' from CC...

At the auction I went to, the lots were very specific. For example, one of them was dinner (for twelve!) cooked in your own home by one of these celebrity chef types.

Perhaps violin lessons would be a good one? Someone might know a youngster who would like them for Christmas, or something like that?

I think that's a great idea. I was at a charity auction recently and they had several lots of this nature. You'd need to specify a region of the country, I guess?  :luck:

I'd like to put some 'promises' in the auction as I can't offer anything material that's any use... like a few violin lessons or a week's cat-feeding or cooking someone a meal or similar.

Would that be OK? I've seen it done before... works just the same.
