Still no word from the owner but the vet picked up that the little cat is microchip ed so i don't know how we stand. the bill came to over £1000 , and i think we can hold onto the poor little cat till at least the owner pays something towards it. :-:

I was just wondering regarding legalities? I mean - it's clear that the people who she "belongs to" aren't making the effort so are you allowed to just rehome if there's no paperwork tying the little one to them?

Is the little girl microchipped? Jut wondering if you need to get her signed over to you and what will happen if you can't contact the *ahem* person who cares for her.

the little cat is doing fine she is walking but still has to be in the cage, as she is not to jump about but they let her out for a while in the evenings, still no news of its owner ringing to find out about her, but i know my volunteer will give what for when or if she does get in touch. >:(

That poor cat. So you got pestered for the lady to have access to her cat and then when she did, she made no effort? Shame on her - clearly she thrived on the drama of her cat being "withheld" from her. >:(

How's the little one doing?

You did a really good thing its a shame the owners are not prepared to take responsibility for their cat.

When I came out of Hospital one of my volunteers told me he had had a phone call about a poor little that cat had been hit by a car, and that its owner never had the money for the vet, so thinking like me he told them to take it to my vet which they did, and hearing from the vet that it had damaged thigh and other injuries, and that the bill was so far £600, and what should they do, they had put his thigh back in place but it would only come out again, and that it would cost more to  do it properly, so me being a softy told them to go ahead, the owner had been phoning me  asking when she could get her cat back nearly every day i told her the bill had come to over £950 and she replied i will come and see you on Saturday with a donation but it would not be much, and when could she have her cat back as she said she had three more cats at home that were missing it and i told her i had fostered it out as it had to be kept in a cage for 3 to 4 weeks, she kept on  when could she see it, so i gave in and gave her the foster Lady's tel number that was 6 days ago but she has not yet made the call, the poor little cat has not yet finished at the vets so it will probely cost me more; some times I think people are not worth helping, but it was the poor little cat we were thinking of, so i don't know what the end will be  >:( >:(
