In our house, it's easy.

1) Take fluffy dressing gown from hook behind bedroom door.
2) Place fluffy dressing gown on floor near radiator.
3) Lift cat & cuddle.
4) Place cat on fluffy dressing gown.
5) Retrieve coat.

Repeat, in reverse order, on returning home.

 ;)

Mine are picked up and moved from my fleece but if they climb straight back on the fleece I go and get another one out of my cupboard and then they look insulted that the fleece they are on is not good enough for me.

LOL, that's hilarious!!

I would go down the treat route too - open the treat drawer and rattle a packet of dreamies - works every time  ;D

On a similar note, Mosi freaks out and runs away when I sneeze for some reason.  I have been known to fake a sneeze when he's lying on my chair the chair I want to sit on.  Does that make me a bad meowmy?

 sneaky, I like it  :shify:

I usually try to reason with the coat thief but then again I am very nieve and often think if i put a fleece blanket near the coat surely they will move of there own accord?! assume you can guess how this always ends ...   :-:

Now that is why Mogs and now Amber dont sleep on the bed!!! Amber is lovely as if I go to the loo in the night she waits outside the door and escorts me back to bed. She then lets me stroke her until I fall asleep ( or move my hand because stroking bums isnt my idea of fun (why do they do that!!) after a little while she jumps down and sleeps under the bed. She knows full well if shes stays on my bed I will twitch and kick her off and after a number of years of waking with 'ooops sorry' cats dont stay on my bed  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

I think Id have hoped a thick pullover might do the trick . . .

And bear in mind this comes from the woman who bought several bottles of tonic water today, having been told the quinine in it might help cramp ....

Why do I have cramp ?

Well I cant push Olwyn & Celyn off the bed onto the floor when they are sleeping on my legs, can I now  ;) :evillaugh:

Looks like I'm in a minority, if it was one of the boys I'd give them a quick shove to get them off it - I frequently have to do that to Riley when he's on my what he likes to think of as his chair  :evillaugh:

Funnily enough I would never have dreamed of moving my elderly cat Tiggy and even remember sleeping on my bedroom floor as a child (she wasn't elderly then) when she was taking up most of the room in a single bed!  :-[

Erm well in the days when I was working and needed to be somewhere at a certain time yeah I did that but thought..... I cant say that they'll think Im cruel
I did sleep on the sofa after Amber was spayed as she decided her bed wasnt good enough and my bed was better and it was a mixture between feeling sorry for her and being terrified of hurting her by kicking her off. In fact I had nightmares that night about picking her up and the whole tummy area bursting etc etc....Having never had a cat or had my own pet spayed I was a little stressed

I'm with you Helen ... they would get a quick shove and be reminded that the bed is theirs ALL day  ;)

LOL, you guys! I love the responses! What I actually did was to pick her up, pet her and tell her how beautiful she is and how fortunate I am to have such a kitty in my house while I got the "Kitty Rewards" pouch and put some treats on her bed. It worked like a charm, any brusied feelings she may have been experiencing were quickly soothed by the chewy treats. :)

Erm, pull coat slowly off of table until Kitty realises he's going to end up on the floor if he doesn't budge. Put coat on, leave. Simples!

It happens on a daily basis. If I couldn't do things for fear of disturbing his royal highness I'd never get aaaaaaaanything done! As you can imagine, he gets disturbed a great deal.

lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

So how cold was it  :evillaugh:

Seriously, with Kylie I just have to open the "Webbox Drawer and she will stop whatever she is doing and be waiting. I have to open the drawer quietly if I want something else from it  :evillaugh:

I would pick cat up and give it a huge cuddle and say how much Im going to miss it whilst Im out and then put cat down gently in a different place, pick up jacket and leave cat wondering if she'd been conned or loved......works with Amber anyway  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Simple, jackets are never put down in this house, always immediately hung up! This is because my everyday coat (well, my only coat in truth), is black and made of a cat hair attracting fabric like no other. I rarely even touch the cats when it's on and yet it is still liberally sprinkled with hair!

Open kitchen cupboard door - thus getting kitty to bolt into the kitchen as all cupboard door opening activity MUST centre around them, remove jacket, feed cat - job done. Simples!

It's 13° outside... you're late for work and NEED your jacket!

Do you
A) Disturb the cat
B) Leave the cat undisturbed on top of the jacket and take comfort knowing your kitty is warm as you freeze your  :censored: off on your way to work

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
