As many of you know, Chilli and Dave drifted apart when they were being fostered and have never been as close since then. Well, recently, Chilli has been up to her old "an open door is an invitation" trick and has been visiting someone. Unfortunately whoever it is is a very heavy smoker and she comes home stinking to high heaven

So, in an effort to break the habit I have had the pair of them under house arrest for about a week. This has had the lovely effect of re-bonding them (which weirdly, didn't happen in my other two flats when they had no outside access). Chilli has started sleeping on the bed for the first time in ages, she's willingly (and more significantly, silently) playing with Dave and today I caught them sleeping on the bed together about an inch apart

However, this has led to me being all but ignored by Dave unless he wants fed or kept warm in bed! Chilli is giving me lots more cuddles but again, it's only as and when she chooses and if I have the laptop on my lap, well, tough, move it to make way for her. Sometimes I move it at her request only for her to immediately jump down again

I was in the lounge all evening on my own while they snoozed on the bed, previously they would have both been in the lounge with me in their favourite spots.
Then when I came to bed, they both got up and went to snooze in the lounge! Dave used to nearly always come to bed when I did.
To say I'm feeling a little pushed aside would be an understatement!
