Sorry to hear this  :( Does the lady have any other pets to help her through?

No but Simba's pal from down the road - an elderly black cat visits her most days.

Was he elderly?

Thought he was about 10 but we all found out he was little older more around 15 years old.

So he had done very well; especially when I remember the times we had to go to the animal hospital - the waiting times were horrendous about 3-4 hours each time and bless him he used to settle down in his carrier and have a sleep. The gentlest ginger giant ever :(

You can't change the world by rescuing one cat, but for that one cat you are changing its world.

That is so sad and one of the charity hospitals wanted to do that to someones cat on Purrs and thankfully she wouldnt let them and all teeth were removed properly by a normal vet.

RIP Simba, play hard on the Bridge

Simba was one of my OAP ladies' cat who I used to transport to the vet.

She has just telephoned me to tell me the sad news that Simba was pts on Saturday. Simba had very severe stomatitis/gingivitis and we spent a year about 4-5 years ago going to the local animal hospital of a well known charity. After a couple of dentals they removed all his teeth leaving the roots in 3-4 teeth at the back. After that he was treated at my vet.

He had done well and at his last check-up in July they were talking about trying to remove the roots. The lady told me that recently he started to lose a lot of weight and was seen by the local vets but on Saturday evening deteriorated - rushed to vets and it was decided the kindest thing was to pts.

RIP Simba ginger giant - your mum and me will miss you loads. :'(
