  • Here come the boys!!!!
Sharon a lot of love and effort results in a happy and contented pairing - sadly not everyone goes to the lengths or has the time and paitience involved in the introductions

We have swithered and wondered about the kittens with Sweetie our 19 y.o. diabetic lady but she bats them down and when they are tired they all tend ot come and sleep around her bed on the couch and she cleans their heads and then all settle down but it has taken time and distractions as she gets her extra food with her injections and they all want to eat it so now have a rota to lick the bowl clean after she has finished

  • Leo(Bridge babe 4/10) & Bella my darling Siamese
    • http://www.canterbury.cats.org.uk
Regular Purrs members will know that i lost my beloved Leo back in April.. I miss him alot and no doubt so does his sister Bella.. Having never, ever been down to one cat before, i decided to take on Noah, but always thinking that am i doing the right thing.. Noah is less then a yr old and is a Seal Point Siamese boy... I have been lucky that all my cats have lived in very close proximinity to other cats (family members etc) and all have lived happily with other cats. So it was a case of either now or never with Bella and deciding what was best.. I do feel sure that she misses Leo alot and they where so very close and never really slept apart but always together and although they had very different characters there were few sibling rivally... Being relastic i do not think we will ever (or should we expect) a similar scenerio with another cat...

I took things extremely slow when intoducing Noah to Bella and in reality took well over 2 months before i was happy for them to be on their own together.. When he could go out he found his feet and now uses up some of that boyish energy outside and comes in a flops in the evening.. Noah follows me for walks as does Bella and i sometimes feel like the Pied Piper... Anyhow who has every been to where i live knows how much room we have for cats to wander and so far i have had no problems with Noah, always keen to come in when called and offered a reward.. He is abit of a heat rreak and during the snow enjoyed the benefits of a warm bed and Bella to snuggle up too..

So although with my homing hat on for CP i am always cautious of rehoming young cats and kittens to senior mogs i have proved it can work with alot of time and dedication and a resident cat that will tolerate the introduciton period.. Bella has health issues and i hope that she does not look at me and pine "why did you do that?" But instead enjoyes the company of another feline around that is not in her face 24/7 and she still gets to sleep on my bed Noah has a to stay in his catbed (i never get any sleep with his early rising).. She still gets fed first and he knows not to nick her food, although i feed them seperately. She gets first choice of the best place to sleep on the sofa and a few more treats... But he seems to of developed more of a auntie attitude around her, he will given the chance try to grab her tail and she will given the chance whack him with a a paw...
As you can see from these photos i hope that they are both happy here, Bella in her old age and Noah in his youth..
Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....
