I have 3 cats, Molly, Zia and Buster, and a rat, Clyde, all rescues. The other week I ended up with Buster and Cyde sleeping on my knee touching each other, and Zia at the side of me, all fine with each other. Clyde was found dumped in a carrier bag tied to the gates of a factory near the rescue, so he isn't always a normal rat - he doesn't do climbing, and if you put him on the settee, he will quite happily find a dark corner and stay there for hours without chewing anything.
Please spay your cat

OK, the felines that share our home are: Sage, Astryd and Darwin.  :Luv:

There are then the five fish: Kyle, Stan, Starsky, Hutch and George. (There has to be a George. ;))

There's a mandarin salamander called Abe, a spiny mouse called Impuku, a domestic mouse called Voodoo Moo, two giant African land snails called Shudde M'ell and Cthulhu, a Chinese hamster called Sir Digby (Chicken Caesar), a Russian hamster called Junior, a corn snake called Syrus and a king snake called Sinwyn.

So yup, we share our home with a few other inhabitants..... ;)

:)

I have 2 male paddle tail newts (in seperate tanks as they cant be housed in the same tank.. the larger is more dominant and was attacking the smaller... so they needed seperated or he would have killed him)

I also have 2 italian crested newts, one male one female and a colony of cherry shrimp lives in with them. These 2 newts were rescued form a newt forum where a man was told by his new g/f to get rid of some of his huge collection of newts.

we have 2 male gerbils and 2 female gerbils (males in one gerbilranium females in another) we started with just 2 but the shop sold us a male and female  :censored: and if they had bred with eachother there would have been mutations genetically and painful death as they were siblings.... so we had to seperate them...and of course they are social animals so needed a tank mate introduced. So we started off with tarzan and night,,,, and ended up with Tarzan and George, and Night and Dusk.

And also 2 Giant African Land Snails both  diff breeds so they cannot breed with eachother but live in the same tank. These were rescues too. The larger one came with severe laddering to her shell which is a result in too many being kept in too small a tank. But now it is repairing with the help of calcium and plenty of room to live happily :)

Our goldfish of 10 yrs sadly passes away a couple of weeks ago :( R.I.P the atomic flounder.

Following the dog thread, I wondered how many folk keep other animals apart from cats?

I have a bit of a menagerie: two cats, three Labradors, three Highland ponies, one Welsh cob, chickens and ducks, not to mention Sparecat the feral who uses our facilities. They all give me such pleasure even though it can be hard work looking after them all at times. One of my Highlands is in foal at present so there should be an addition next year. Six of my animals are rescues, including two of the ponies, and one dog is a daughter cast off when her circumstances changed.

Somehow you just collect them don't you? Or else they know where to find you :innocent:
