Best bit is one of the shops is also a trader on ebay lol.  Will give that one their due though they are undergoing refurbishment at the moment and are not carrying that much stock with the shop being expanded where wool is concerned.  It is also the shop that is waiting for an order to come in which should have eyes for the whales that I am running short of.

It is also the shop where I can get the Christmas colours from to do the Poinsettia sets from but have not seen any Silver there (to be honest have not really looked but am sure if I asked them they would try to get me some in).  Nearly died when I saw that the Silver wool was £2 for a 50g ball as the wool I get is £1.35 for 100g ball.

Unfortunately I don't have a John Lewis near me unless I wish to spend over 2 hours each way on a train.  I am able to get all the colours in the Christmas mix and have them all at home but just not Patons wool lol.

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I think your wool shops are just lazy and don't bother to see what their suppliers have, a quick look on ebay and the first result is a silver yarn by Patons, along with every other shade of the rainbow, all by Patons. I suspect a lot of these little traditional knitting shops just don't bother changing what their regular customers like to buy and get stuck in a rut.

I'm going to John Lewis tomorrow afternoon to look for bondaweb (the place I knew had some in stock had lost their roll, I have stuff due in on Thursday that I need it for :tired:) so I can see what they have if you like?

I live in a really weird town that still has a few traditional shops - we have 2 wool shops + a sewing machine/fabric shop   :evillaugh: (and it is only a small town) - I will have a look on Thursday if you like.

This is the newish crafty type one, but there is a proper old-fashioned one as well.

I used to love going to the wool shop with my mum  :shy: - there was always a nice smell - I think it was the crackly real cellophane the wool was packed in  :shy:

(I wanted to rent this lovely old shop and sell sweets in it - it has a curved window on the corner  :))

Can we have suggestions in wool colours please, don't think it is possible to get metal colours easily as live in a rubbish town.

Even though there is two dedicated craft shops one it is impossible to get dark greens and even told me that the colour was no longer available but managed to get some at the other shop no problem and they had plenty.  We have a Boyes in the same town but their colours are limited as well and are mainly pastel shades like one of the shops which is a dedicated wool shop.  The shop where I can get the really dark colours do sewing, etc.

Purple and silver are my colours  ;D Also, any jewel like colours, you know, really rich pinks and turquoises and purples and blues.

Red, green and blue are no problem but have not seen wool in gold or silver as of yet.  So am starting on them 3 colours so far but any more suggestions would greatly be received, think I will do white as well.

Sort of need people's help here.  I have literally bought a pattern for crochet tree baubles and wondered what colours they should be done in.

They will be unbreakable if you have a cat that climbs and knocks trees over.  Also was thinking as there are 3 designs of them of doing sets of 3 to go into the auction as well.

Any suggestions appreciated
