Tortoise and owner now reunited...woohoo!!!!

She had managed to wander quite a way from her home but a kind gentleman who was out walking found her and called the number on her shell.

Another happy ending  ;D

Please can this now be moved to sorted, thanks

Hi Steff,  Welcome back xx

The hints are tips for lost and found pets are alwasy as the top of the section ... we keep them there so they are easy to find  ;)

I really hope this lady manages to get her pet back ... from what little I know of Tortoises they can actually move really quite quickly - so I would suggest lots of posters and flyers in and around the neighbourhood.

MORE INFO ON THE TORTOISE

She is not microchipped but she has her owners telephone number painted on her shell.

Her owner is terribly upset and any information would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi Sam

Thank you for moving this post for me, I wasn't sure where to put it!  I have asked the owner for a bit more information, unfortunately I am a little clueless when it comes to tortoises because I have never had one of my own and couldn't find much information on how to get them back either!

Not sure if you moved the lost cat/found cat etc advice posts up to the top for my benefit but they were really helpful and I was already using the lost cat tips as part of my Petsearch hints and tips.  I still need to get more info and more contacts but I am getting there slowly.

Thanks again

Steff

P.S.  I remember you from when I used to post on here and Cat Chat :)

Ahhhh how sad.  I have moved this post to the "front page" of the section which is for "other animals"

I really hope the lady gets her tortoise back ... is it chipped / identifiable?

Hi All

I am the local Petsearch Volunteer for the Bedfordshire area and have had a tortoise reported missing to me.  I know this site is really for cats but wanted to post on here just in case:

Female Herman Tortoise
She is over 30 years old
Her owner has had her for 30 years and is desperate to get her back.
Missing from the Clapham area of Bedfordshire

Any info please let me know.  Also if you have any tips for getting tortoises to come home then please let me know.

Thanks

Steff
