I cant bring myself to read the newspaper article, im at work prob end up getting to upset  :( :'(

People hurt cats simply because they can, little ones are totally helpless against some charver with a vendetta against cats...prob get a kick out of hurting them.

If it was up to me, id do exactly the same to the people who hurt them.....shot them...see how they like it....little  :censored: what they are  >:(

hi, i live in Darwen and my partner in Blackburn. me and my mum have had 4 cats go missing in the Darwen area over a few year period, we think there was a bout of cat napping going on as one of my neighbours also had 2 cats go missing around the same time. we also lost my beloved tigger who was a blonde colour to slug pelet poisioning.
we really hope Mister comes home, the house doesn't feel the same without him, his brother Charlie is also starting to miss him  :'(

Hi there,

Firstly i am sorry your little baby Mister is missing :-( i know exactly how you feel. I used to live in wilpshire up until a couple of months ago, we moved shortly after we got Puddles back. There was another report of a cat being shot, that actually lived around the corner from us, and the article i posted was from Darwen. I think you are a fair few miles from where i lived and so i wouldnt be too concerned about the shootings, the person responsible we think was very local and was personally trying to dispose of local cats because they were a nuisance. Plus, you will drive yourself mad if you think every negative thought. I informed blackburn cat rescue, and the local RSPCA at the time so they are well aware of the case. My cat was dumped in ribchester the same night she went missing, so the person who injured her had to have a vehicle, it wasnt kids.
The lady who runs blackburn cat rescue is really helpful and full of good ideas, if you havent spoken to her yet i would definitely recommend it. The RSPCA team in altham are brilliant also, they displayed my posters and were really supportive.
Unfortunately i only had my Puddles back for five months, she wasnt the same after she got shot. We thought she had settled really well in our new home so we had been letting her go outside again for weeks and things seemed great. Until we let her out last weekend and she hasnt been home since. I've taken the necessary steps and informed pet log, but i am just trying to tell myself she is most likely sitting on someone elses sofa, and that she'll be home when she can. In all honestly with the circumstances i'm grateful i had any time with her, things could have been much worse if that bullet had caused more serious damage. Dont let this get you down tho, we have to remain postive for our little angels!
Mister is absolutely gorgeous, i'm sure he will be back soon, just like my Puddles!
I have everything crossed for you
St Gertrude, keep my cat all night
From trap or poison, thorn or bite,
From speeding cars and thieving men,
And bring him safely home again.

I think calling these things 'people' is where we go wrong, calling them that suggests they have the power of rational thought. I just hope that they catch whoever it was and actually make an example of them. Unfortunately even though my baby Puddles was shot and dumped six miles away from my home by the time I got her back there was no bullet and therefore no evidence. As for peoples comments on that article, I can't fathom peoples reasons for hating our furbabies, I don't care for dogs but I'm not going round shooting them! Each to their own......or so I thought?!

We've got free will, Claire. Some people use it in a positive way, others don't. It sickens me too that someone would feel it acceptable to treat a cat this way.

I'll never understand what goes through someone's mind that can bring them to do something like that.

It is, of course, a wild and irrational assumption that these individuals have a mind for anything to go through, Claire .

I saw a story earlier about a cat called Amazing Grace who had a nail driven through his head  >:( Poor thing was walking around normally and recovered fully once it was removed. This article appeared in the local lancashire newspaper, and it made my blood boil.  >:(

My own cat Puddles was shot earlier this year, and i was very fortunate that she has made a full recovery  :Luv:. I just cant understand why anyone would want to hurt innocent inquisitive little moggies just going about their daily business?!  :scared: I just thought people should be aware (esp if they live in blackburn!).
