Just a wee update on the little ones for you all....

Babies are doing well thus far and seem to be thriving which is great news - we just have fingers crossed that all continues to go well for these little ones.  They are all SO full of character already and they are only just 3.5 weeks old.  They really make us laugh.

Mum Kaycee was spayed yesterday so once her recuperation comes to an end we will have her returned to her elderly owner who is missing her greatly - though safe in the knowledge this can't happen again!

lol very true Liz.

Well I can report that mum is now improving thankfully - it was SOOOO the right decision to take the little ones away and hopefully she will be strong enough to go through her spay operation in around a week - 2 weeks time.

I also have a wee treat for you with couple of piccies of the babies in their new home - our incubator unit.  I can honestly say this has been a godsend.....babies are all doing well (touch wood)...though same can't be said for me! lol

enjoy!  :Luv2:

will get more updates soon

You could say that Skully what with 17 adult cases and 4 little ones to hand rear there is a lot to get through every day! (not including the permanent residents!)  Its funny how people assume that we have a huge team of people to get through everything when the truth is there is myself, Paul (when hes not working) and thankfully Caroline who is a complete godsend and always there when we need more than 4 hands! ;)

babies had a good night and I have to say that the intensive care unit is a complete godsend and worth its weight in gold. Kept them nice and snug.  Thank you folks so much we wouldn't have it without your kindness and generosity!

Wee update on this family - all seems to have been a bit much for mummy who is only just a baby herself and she is really struggling with the little ones.  She is exhausted, not eating well and been sick / runs over the last 48hrs and to top it all off she stopped producing milk today.

So for mummys sake we have made the decision to remove the kittens from mum and concentrate on getting her well and we will rear the babies.

Not an ideal scenario all round but poor Kaycee is really struggling and there wasn't much to her to start with.  Just far too much far too young I fear and we have had to make a decision as to what is best for mum and babies.

So - this will be our first family to make use of the Incubator Unit we bought with funds from this years auction - thank you so much guys its a godsend.

Piccie's to follow when we get a moment!

Great that they are being well looked after but it is so sad that she is only a baby herself  :(

We are just back from collecting a mum and kittens from an elderly owner who didn't even know his 7mth old cat was pregnant til she popped out kittens last Sunday!

We have brought mum and 4 5day old babies back to the harbour so that she can rear them under our watchful eye.  Once ready we will be neutering mum and returning her to the elderly owner as she is his sole companion.

Whilst there we have also learnt of other such situations one including this little ones mum  - and put the word out so hopefully we can avoid a few more kitties making their way to the free ads!!  :-:

Mommy cat doesn't have a name allocated by her owner who simply refers to her as 'the cat' or 'darkie' as she is a black fluffy!!!      so we have taken a name from our list for the time being and opted to call her Kaycee as chosen by Lesley for her time with us at the harbour

Mom cat is resting just now and settling her babies in - will try and get some piccies for you all later on once they are more settled.  ;)
