I know what you mean Helen.  Plonkers took over 6 weeks to fix my car after I bashed the poor lad  :-[ but was no prob as I could use OH's car .............  I remember being all at sea when I went to pop to Tesco and opened front door to find the drive carless as OH had gone up North to see his pa.  Just stood there looking at drive  :-:  Hope you can get a courtesy car quick

Car is driveable but is definitely not roadworthy and wouldn't risk it, not only from a safety aspect but also for the sake of my licence! Getting a hire car tomorrow so will be back on the road. It's amazing how much we rely on cars nowadays, I keep thinking I'll pop here etc but then remember I can't  :tired:

Thanks everyone, he's been milking it and has eaten almost his bodyweight in Dreamies  :evillaugh:

Glad you are both OK

I think cats like to keep us on our toes  :tired: :evillaugh:

As for you and the car, did they stop?

The car stopped, I think I scared him as I got out and shouted at him that he could have killed me.  He just kept saying sorry and that he hadn't looked before he decided to cross the dual carriageway

So pleased Riley is Ok and sorry about the car

Beauty of a pill v injection is that he could spit it out  and it would not have got into his system verty much, unlike an injection which unless there was a revesable antidote, once its i n , thats it.

Glad Riley's ok - sounds like the pill started to dissolve in his mouth and caused the foaming?

sorry about the car - hope you're ok?

 :thanks: PrincessMaizie

I forgot to say that he also has a cut on his nose as they went for their jabs on Thursday morning and he must have been sticking his nose through one of the holes in the plastic of the carrier and got a jolt, poor baby :care:

What a day !- so glad Riley is okay .
Its not good when they scare you like that !!
Thats a good idea -setting up a webcam to watch them !!!
Hope you get a good rest and no more scares now .

I have got Fifi with cystitis again tonight - so worried here myself.

Had a horrible scare earlier today, Riley came in from the garden and started making his 'I'm chucking up a few blades of grass' noise. I went to clear it up and saw what looked like a bee/wasp leg in it so thought I'd give him one of the tablets the vet recommended. He normally gobbles them up in a treat but he wouldn't this time so I thought no problem I'll pop it down his throat as they're only tiny.  Seconds later he has spat the tablet out and is foaming at the mouth at an alarming rate. I've never seen so much foam/dribble and he was wretching and sticking his tongue out.

He ran upstairs and was under the bed foaming, I was absolutely terrified. I managed to drag him out and rang the vets (Vets now operate from my surgery out of hours) and explained what had happened, he was alert and a few minutes later was rubbing round my legs (while still foaming at the mouth!) so they said just to monitor him. I had to go to work a few hours later so I put them both in the front room and set the LukeyRiley webcam up so I could monitor him from work. He's absolutely fine and seems to have no ill effects but Tiggy's brother died in almost identical circumstances, he had received a jab of something from the vets which made him foam up and then he died so as you can imagine I was so worried  :(

To top it all off on my way home from work some numpty crossed a dual carriageway without giving way to oncoming traffic ie me! so my car is probably going to be a write off  :tired:
