I've never figured that one out.

My first cat, Tooshy, developed a strange habit. When my daughter was born for the first 3 months every single morning he would drop a dead mouse at the foot of her cot.

Suddenly he just stopped doing it.

I thought perhaps he recognised my daughter as a new kitten and was trying to encourage her to play hunt but then just gave up on her.

When she grew older, at around 5 years, I told her Tooshy used to bring her mice but then stopped when she hit 3 months old. She said "perhaps he thought I was old enough to catch my own?"
