I've reported it so I suppose I just have to wait and see, oh says its a bengal so I wouldn't touch it unless I was very sure, my bengal hates being picked up

:omg: Open public forum, ladies.  :ooops:

I am sure the Mods would never condone organising the illegal removal of someone's cat via this forum.  :agree:

When you pick puddy up take some welders gloves and a blanket in case he's never been in a carrier before and puts up a fight.

Thanks for the tip

I would call the RSPCA>  I have never had too much faith in them but recently had to call them because one of my neighbours cats was obviously ill and needed vet attention.  Despite me and my neighbour trying to persuade her to take him to the vet for nine months she wouldnt.  I called the RSPCA who came out, saw the cat and threatened her with prosecution if she did not seek vet care for him.  He has now been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and receiving the medication he should have had months ago.  I so wish I had phoned them sooner.

If a 'nap is on the cards then its probably best not to raise any interest by leaving anything

thanks for the offer but it is a conversion flat in kensington, it wouldn't last 5 minutes before somebody stole it or it was removed by street cleaners

Aberystwyth (please note spuling Dawn) is about 50  miles from me

if your OH could collect the Snugs he would be welcome to it, though the cost of a second-hand one on E-Bay is less than the petrol would be

its so difficult - oh has been talking to the upstairs neighbour today so it would look a bit dodgy - I just don't expect much action - the last one I reported over mum's way had had three litters in a row and had an unattended abcess on its foot - all I got from them was "I know they've had their children taken by social services but they aren't bad people" for the record I didn't mention the kids but I think he thought I was being snooty about the situation

I wouldn't give the RSPCA the time of day. When we reported a neglect/abuse case, they said to chase them if it hadn't been sorted in 6 weeks. Luckily after pressure, they relected. I thin cat napping would be better

Can't both be done? There can be more than one person worried about the cat (there is now. ;)) so surely two people could be trying to help the cat in different ways. And the reason I said to report isn't (sadly) because I have faith in the RSPCA doing anything but at least on the off chance they do, any other animals there are protected too.

You said he's in Wales? Trigger, are you also in Wales? Maybe it's close enough for OH to collect said snugs kennel and put it near where he works for the cat?

Definitely a reporting case....the problem is, if you don't and help this cat then the "official channels" have no knowledge of how badly the owners care for animals and no further check ups will be done.

I'm currently feeding a cat on our road, and have reported it's owners to the RSPCA. She's always out and she comes to our door for food. She's also had BIG scabs on her that have obviously been left after they happened and will try and bite if you touch certain parts of her body, as though it hurts. My theory is if anything's said to me I can say "how stupid do you think I am? To feed your cat really obviously AND report you....?" :evillaugh:

Poor thing, sounds like it gets no social interaction whatsoever. :(

I have a spare Snugs kennel which I would offer in this situation - don't know if you have anything similar?

Seems an obvious case of neglect, the bald patches could be caused by fleas and Im sure the owner is not covering all of the animal welfare laws by letting it live outside and not taking propper care of the cat. I would report to rspca  :)

oh has a cat that lives near where he works in London it is in poor condition and on speaking to neighbours (he isn't shy!) has found out it is not allowed in its home while the owner is at work - it is fed outside with basically the lid taken off a small can - he thinks it has bald patches but hasn't ventured close enough to be sure - is it an rspca job???  the local cp would be paddington but i understand they are pretty much closed at the moment

should we just ignore the situation, it does have an owner and a place to live -  I know not everyone works to purrs type standards
