Oh sweetheart, I'm so, so sorry

Ginge had so many amazing years with you, and you truly made the hardest decision we ever have to make for our babies, to let them go with love, dignity and be spared any suffering.

I know how you are feeling hunnie, and all I can say is go with your feelings, cry as much as you need to as it really does help.

We're all here if you need us, and you are most certainly in my thoughts xxxx

I am so sorry to hear this Gwen, while it is such a shock because he has gone downhill so fast, it is also a blessing, that you haven't had to go through months of him declining and medicating him to buy him some time, and that you were strong enough to allow him to go with dignity while he still had some quality of life, and he will be grateful for that. The fact he got to the age of 20 shows what wonderful care you gave him. RIP little one
Please spay your cat

Gwen, the decision you made today is most definitely the worst part of loving an animal as a family member. The fact you did because you knew he'd be suffering, despite how it made you feel says everything. The love we have for the animals in our care surpasses how much a decision will hurt us and jumps to how the end result will affect them.

Ging had 20 years of love from you, and you from him. Cherish it, because that is the most amazing gift. :care:

RIP Ging, free from pain.

:(  Ginge was a very lucky boy to have had you in his life for 20 years and to be there to make the final decision for him.  You were able to offer the greatest gift we can destow on our furbabes ... allowing them to pass over with dignity and love.

So sorry Gwen. It is heart wrenching making that final decision but we have to put them first. I know there is nothing that can console you now; not even knowing he had a wonderful 20 years with you. We are here for you anyway

We went to the vet this morning and as she examined him she said his kidney was extremely enlarged also said the fact that he has a tumour on his anus says that he must have other tumours inside, the thought of him being riddled with cancer just makes me feel sick,he really hadn't shown any signs of illness until Wednesday, but apparently cats are very good at hiding just how ill they are until they are at a serious stage according to the vet.

It took me almost half an hour to make the final decision,I didn;t want to take the one chance of him recovering away from himthe vet said even if he'd go on a drip we'd be back to square one once he would come off it,I just can't believe how fast he's gone downhill,at least this way I guess he had a bit of dignity left,he was still using his litter tray and he still knew us,the vet said his body would of basically of been poisoned all the way through therefore having a horrible death as a consequence.

Thanks guys for being there for me.  The house is going to be a much empty and quiet one now he's gone,it's going to take some getting used to :'(
Love me,love my animals.
