He certainly does.  Now that I've connected the speakers to my hi fi, he's got a new place to sit - on top of the speakers - and he can reach the ceiling from there.  This is not good  :shify:

well sometimes he has more of a spring in his step than others!  Funny but Magpie used to get a bit lively as spring approached but I never notice any difference with Jaffa.

Well i relented last night and Fern came to bed with us.....I can tell you....NEVER EVER AGAIN!

she snuzzled and puddened and snuzzled and PURRED and PURRED and then smooched and stuck her freezing cold wet nose into my face..this seemed to go on allllll night long....so...tonight its back to the cat basket in front of the fire!  :P

gotta love them but my sleep is precious! :tired:

Sounds just like Ducha......sigh

He sticks his nose in my ear and pushes and shoves, then he lays on my head and pushes and shoves, for one small 3 legged cat he is so strong!

Then he gets his claws stuck in my hair and pushes onto the pillow as far as he can and with success he purrs.

Was so cross this morning that I made him move to the side but fell asleep feeling guilty cos he wasnt purring and he thinks he is not loved........sigh

Franta just finds somewhere to lie, usually nose to nose with me and goes to sleep while I itch from his whiskers and get pricked by his claws that try to grip to make sure I dont leave  :innocent:

They've been much better the last few nights.  Jaffa has still been  waking up in the night but one night it was gone 5.30am and my alarm goes off at 6am.  If he wakes up too early I just go sleepily into the living room and pull the litter tray out into the middle of the room and take off the hood.   That tends to encourage Jaffa to use it (he does use it normally but he usually comes to use it when I clean it out).  Then I can go back to bed happy in the knowledge that no matter how much he mooches around and/or whines, he's unlikely to wee anywhere I don't want him weeing!  So I ignore him and he's back on the bed in no time at all.  Mosi either stays sleepy or wakes up and starts running around.  I ignore him and eventually he shuts up.  Not ideal, but if I try to get too involved I just get myself wide awake and wound up and they, Mosi in particular, just gets more and more noisy.

I do feel for you Susanne. We've had phases of late night siliness here too. Fortunately the past few weeks have been pretty calm. The girls settle pretty quickly on the bed but Jess likes to have a wander in the night. He'll jump on the bed wanting a fuss, but if he dont get his way he will go looking for mischief.... I've lost count of the times I've had to shoo him off for trying to open my wardrobe door.

I'm relenting a bit now.  This morning I was still really mad at them and Mosi was a bit stand offish with me (not too standoffish to come into bed for a cuddle this morning, but standoffish enough to give me the cold shoulder when I tried to say goodbye).  Now I'm thinking they're not so bad........

Naaaaaauuuuuggghghghghty toodies!

I keep the two horror bags shut downstairs at night, this encourages them to (go to sleep) when the rest of us do , it also keeps them near thier litter trays and out of mischief????

They have now gotten into 'lets tiip all the cotton buds out' game when they do have the run of the house....also my sons bedroom has a huge massive ginormous amunt of lego on it and they love to thrash about in that....they love anything noisy!!! (its on laminate flooring too   )

You love your toodies really.....gotta be firm!...i find that ear plugs are a worthwhile investment! :evillaugh:

much love and early nights! xxx

This went beyond funny last night.  After a lovely evening playing with them and me being more relaxed than I have in ages about Jaffa's spraying (in part due to his using his tray at appropriate moments so I was less anxious he might go elsewhere), they were both a nightmare at bedtime.  I am holding the purrfect Jaffa responsible for a lot of it as he refused to settle down on the bed.  He wasn't actually doign anything - no whining or anything - but he was clearly encouraging Mosi to be naughty.  And once Mosi gets wound up he gets really hyper so I endured an hour and a half of them chasing each other around, Mosi racing around the place chirruping and knocking things over.  Not funny at 1am.  I tried to put him in time out but that doesn't work when Jaffa isnt' settled because then he is shut out of the living room.  I ended up shutting Mosi in the bathroom but I heard a tremendous crash so had to go in there to see what he was up to, esp given the time.  It was gone 1.30am by the time they settled down but by then I was too wound up to sleep.  So I got to sleep at about 2.15am only to be woken up at 3.45am.  Back to sleep by about 4.30am and then up at 6am.  I am very tired and not amused with His Mosiness's antics and very disappointed with Jaffa for egging him on.  If Jaffa had settled down on the bed straight away like he normally does, Mosi would never have got so worked up as he was quite sleepy to begin with.  Jaffa is capable of deciding he's had enough after 10 minutes but Mosi won't calm down that easily.

I feel your pain it's so annoying isn't it  :(

We get sleep deprivation in our house too. Milo always wakes up at 4am with antics too. From walking all over me, patting me in the face, licking my nose, playing with the blind cords, knocking a photoframe off the draws, stratching a sotrage box, sitting on the headboard and swishing his tail over my face to name but a few.

Funny thing is when we were staying with my MIL the other week I woke at 4am anyway  :tired: so I must be used to it.

Well the boys put on quite a show for me last night.  Woke up at 3.30 (not sure whether it was me waking up or me being woken up) and followed Jaffa out to encourage him to use the litter tray (then I can relax knowing he doesnt have a bladder full that he may deposit who knows where) and went back to bed.  I expected Jaffa to come back into the bedroom and eventually settle down on the bed again.  But he got all playful and started pouncing on the corners of the towels I have on the floor (carpet substitute  ;D).  Mosi, of course, got in on the act and Jaffa actually started pouncing on Mosi.  They played for a while and I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry.  After about 15 minutes, Jaffa settled down on the bed again but Mosi was all hyper so he was a pain played for a while longer.  I think I'm doomed to spend the rest of my life waking at 3.30am.  The funny thing is it is always one of them waking and then the other follows suit.  When Jaffa wakes, that sets off Mosi who is often asleep on my legs.  And if Jaffa decides to sleep through the night, you can bet your life Mosi will decide to provide some nocturnal entertainment  :innocent:  They never wake up together.

 Little monkeys! I awoke in the night to hear Noah playing for ages with his Bergan Turbo Tracks, which is set up in the hall right outside my bedroom. Since we have had the flashing ball and extra straights it gets sooooo much use. He has always cried for food if I don't get up early enough, but recently Noah comes right up to me and snuffles in my face, I open my eyes and we are nose to nose!
:'( My beautiful Noah rescued 13/02/09, adopted 11/10/09, taken 11/02/11 :'( You deserved so much more.

Wretched cat!  Second morning/night on the trot.  4.30am Mosi was up and being a pain.  So I shut the pair of them out.  Mosi continued to scratch the door, rattle the door, scratch the wall, whine, knock the lion picture (I had to leave it lopsided as no time to sort it out - maybe he'll knock it the other way for me and put it right) and be a general pain for over an hour.  He finally shut up at about 5.50am.  As it's a work day for me, I had to be up shortly after 6am.  So another night with little over 4 hours sleep.  Of course when I went out to them, Mosi was curled up on the back of the sofa looking innocent.  He doesn't fool me.

I absolutely adore watching Jaffa sleep.  It's just one cute position after another and I love watching his little body rise and fall.  I just can't stop myself touching him!

Ahh..none of us can resist that one!

I just wandered into the living room there - Mols is out for the count and snoring her head off - and I did the very same thing - lifted her wee paw, rolled it in my fingers and thumb,  gave her a big smack on the mouth!  (well...in fairness, she DID open her eyes, give me a little 'pprrrrtttt' and stuck her nose right onto my lips - scared in case she missed anything googd food!)   She has to actually 'touch' me with her nose when she does smell me  - I'm sure it's a legacy of when she had cat flu as a kitten apparently.  It's so cute though.  :Luv: :Luv:

It's a good job I love them.

Mosi will be a little devil even in his old age  :naughty:

I think you are right there.

I was impressed with Jaffa this morning though.  Normally in those circumstances he'd get up and then I'd start to worry he'd spray somewhere but he just stayed on the bed and decided it wasn't time to get up.

I do tend to pester Jaffa a bit when he's asleep.  He looks so cute I tend to kiss him or stroke him when he's snoozing and thus wake him up   Mosi doesn't go in for a whole lot of sleeping, at least not when I'm at home.

I'm also gong to be in a sleep deprived early grave but it is all the masterful work of one pest, Dave!

This monring I was pestered from about 6am with the usual walking back forth over my head, shoving his face in mine, lying on or in front of my face, knocking stuff over on the bedside table, over and over and over and over and over...........................until he gives up and lies on the pillow for just long enough to let me fall asleep, then he starts again. I cave about 8.30am and get up, feed them both and go back to bed for a little bit. No such luck, once again I must have just fallen asleep when he starts up again with the above routine. So I sit up, pick up my laptop to catch up on the world before getting out of bed and he promptly goes to sleep on the end of the bed :tired:

I keep hoping he'll grow out of it like the lovely, nearly always well behaved Chilli. I think hope is all I have as it's never going to come to fruition is it.............

I know I shouldn't but ....    :-[

You do have a planned strategy I take it - you know, that one where  the pair of them are lying sleeping soundly during the day or early evening, dreaming of chasing flies and things - the plan that involves 'pestering them'   :evillaugh:  to wake them up, wee tickle on ears when they want left alone......  :evillaugh:

I'm kidding!  (well..... tee hee:evillaugh:)    it's not funny at the time, but it is very funny afterwards!   Mad half hours - superb!

Those boys of mine are going to drive me into a sleep deprived early grave  :tired:  First it was manic Mosi keeping me awake all night, then when he started to settle at night, Jaffa started waking up early.  Then we went through a short period of both sleeping until a reasonable hour but Jaffa has started waking up a bit earlier again and I'm loathe to ignore him due to the recent spraying.  If Mosi is going to be naughty at night, it's usually at bedtime these days.  Once he's given up and settled down, he usually stays sleepy and quiet until I get up.  But last night, he was up to his antics at 4.45am - jumping up the walls, climbing the curtains, whining....  thankfully Jaffa was a good boy and although he woke up, he stayed on his bottle on the bed even when I got up to go to the loo.  Eventualy Mosi settled down snuggled up to me (trying to suck up to me  :shify:) and Jaffa went back to sleep.  I didn't get much more sleep but at least the pair of them slept until the alarm went off at 6am.  I think they plan it "it's your turn tonight, Mosi.  I did last night...."  :tired:
