How many whiskers?

I have counted Benji's whiskers
 
He has 16 big ones on one side (and 3 massive eyebrow whiskers and one cheek whisker) and on the other side he had 13 big whiskers, no cheek whiskers and one eyebrow whisker....he also seems to have whiskers up his front legs, 2 on each leg

And research on the net showed that most cats have around 12 on each side

Whiskers come and go and suspect the side you find the least on is the side your cat lies on most 

My birmans are not the same on each side so not a pedigree thing

I counted Oliver's, 16 on the left, 14 on the right, plus 2 sticking out a bit far back in the middle cheek on both sides, not sure these are counted as whiskers...

How weird, Tia has 12 on the left & 6 on the right, and 6 'eyebrows' on the left but only 3 on the right!!!

Oscar however had 16 each side no eyebrows!!! Must be coz hes a ped', he's been made evenly!!!

  You got me counting now lol! Pep's got 8 on his right and 12 on his left and a few very faint ones which aren't worth counting, Byron's snoozing with her head tucked under so can't count hers.

Whilst having a cuddle with Jess last night (he was sat on my lap and facing me) I was stroking him and looking at his face and I noticed that he has many more whiskers on his right side than his left.

I counted 7 on the left and more than 12 on the right.

Once I realised it looked really noticeable
