I was going to post an update and thn Susanne posts to remind me ;D

Nothing since, definitely think it was just a peculiar hairball incident, even more so as someone :shify: has eaten the tops off my coriander shoots I'm trying to grow on the kitchen window will :evillaugh: I'll get some cat grass this weekend if I can, can't have them eating my herbs!

I would go with vomit/hairball problem.  If they hadn't eaten for a while they could easily bring up some clear fluid.  A few years ago I came home from work and found a wet patch on the bed.  I thought at first that Jaffa had weed there but it was odourless.  It happened a few times and eventually I realised that he had just vomited and as he'd had nothing to eat since the morning, he had no stomach contents to bring up (or else it wasn't true vomiting and just saliva etc).  There was a bit of hair in it on one occasion.

I've dealt with furballs that sound like that Shona although mine normally have a bit of grass as well!

If there was a foamy bit I'd be inclinedto think a failed furball attempt

Definitely not a territorial/scent marking/distress thing. I have had them for 2 and 3 years and even as kittens there were never any toileting or spraying problems. Heck even when I'm sick and can't get to the tray to clean it as often as usual they still use it bless them.

I'm thinking more and more it must have been over drinking and a bit of fur. Whe I think about it, if it had been done a while before I got up it would ahve spread mush further if it was wee  Plus there was a sort of foamy bit like you get when cats are sick on a virtually empty stomach.

They both ate their breakfast with no problems either.

Will still keep an eye for the next or so though.

time someone started selling DIY DNA testing kits

any chance one of your cats prevented the other from getting to the tray? or do you have more than one down?

Could it be two separate things? Clump of hair from somewhere - maybe it smells funny - so somebody wees on it?

That's what I thought. Willow was often sick after having a drink of water. It is furball season  :evillaugh:

That was what I thought but it wasn't clumps of fur, just some matted into the puddle and it was rather a big puddle for it to be stomach water, although if whoever it was had just had a drink it could account for a bit more.

Could be a fur ball rather than wee, if it is odourless. Wee rarely has fur in it

Weirdest toileting accident

My two are fit, healthy and so far no real issues to be concerned about. As you know, we moved recently and all went swimmingly, again no issues and everyone has settled fabulously.

But I have got up to a very odd discovery. Just by the door in the lounge someone has had an accident. There was a bit of a puddle and a couple of clumps of black hair  Whe I cleaned it up it was virtually odourless which is even weirder.

Neither of them have ever had an accident before and they are both behaving normally this morning. I'm assuming it's Chilli who has had the accident and am wondering if maybe Dave's got a bit over-excited about the new cat cube, been a bit too rough with Chilli which he has been known to do and she's just got a bit freaked and had a little wee?

Obviously I'll keep an eye on them as I can't be sure who has done it let alone when or why!
