Some cats do have a small appetite. Our Willow ate like a bird. She did die from CRF in the end last month at the age of 11. If it is caught early enough, meds can slow it down so much that it almost goes at a stand still. Clapton was diagnosed early and that was well over 3 years ago and he is still going strong

It is certainly not unheard of, I had a cat who had chronic kidney problems pretty well all her life. Vet check, quick smart!

I think it's uncommon for a cat that age to have kidney problems, but you can't rule it out. A vet visit is definitely in order if she's that small so the vet can maybe do a blood panel and check things.

My auntie and uncle had a cat that was absolutely tiny. Noone could figure it out, so she was taken to the vets and it transpired that the poor little mite had a really severe allergy to her own fur and was really ill from it. I've never heard of that before or again, but it does highlight the need to take a cat to the vets if it's stature is that off the mark.

I have a female cat who is nearly two. She is very small, looks like a six month old kitten. She is uinderweight also. She only picks at her food eats about one small bowl of food a day. She will not eat anymore. I have noticed she drinks a lot more water than my other cat. I lost an 18 year old due to kidney failure. She seems to be showing the same symptoms, is she too young? thanks in advance.
