Mark,

Jill our oldie lady has several black cats in here home. A lot of her oldies she pays for herself and I'm sure (in fact  I know) she would be grateful of a sponsorship.....(JillE on purrs, though she doesn't come on that often, you can email her)

it's easy done Mark - even now after all this time I still think I won't do that cos Smudge doesn't like it and especially now all this snow is here - he loved playing in the snow with me - I would throw snowballs fro him.  I was having a little word with him inthe garden the other day and throew a snowball at the spot where I buried him.

Thanks Mary

We are just getting over the initial shock. Tonight, I got the donuts and milk from the kitchen and Dennis said "Don't forget Willow's"  :( - I always used to give her a tiny drop in a ramekin - mainly to stop her nicking Dennis'

Thanks for the link Ruth  :'(

Mark I am so sorry darling.  This is my 1st cry of the year on Purrs and I'm sure it won't be the last unfortunately.

I have fell in love with so many cats on here but I had a real soft spot for Willow as she was so much like my Smudge.

You and Dennis did every thing you possibly could and she knew it.
Love Mary xxxxx

That's a good idea  :) - I haven't managed to go there yet. I really should go one Friday after classes as it is near to Hadlow.

I guessed you hadn't seen it Mary but I know you don't look at all the sections

I will have a look at all of those. Not just because it is in Kent but Squiggle at Romney House looks a potential  :Luv2: - Also Silvana  is brilliant. She has helped so many desperate cats. Last year, I phoned her when we were chocka about a cat that was due to be PTS the same day and we were full. Even though she was full as well, she took the cat and said she would find a space.  :)

Its a lovely idea and so thoughtful of you both at this sad time for you and Dennis

I will think about that one but was hoping to actually have our own cat at a rescue if that makes sense. £3 a month is obviously not going to take care of a cat so you would be "sharing"

It lists different permanent cats so you should be able to choose whos photo you get, it could be what ela has mentioned before about being able to prove the money for sponsoring sooty is spent on sooty and not snowy, charities commission is tight on some things

Thanks MM - I saw that but it seemed a bit vague and it seems you aren't really sponsoring a particular cat?

Any ideas anyone?

I think we are going to keep her ashes here and would rather spend the money on helping a needy, possibly unrehomeable cat somewhere. It would be nice if the cat is black but not essential. The cat would obviously have to be in care of a charity.
