Just a little update.  I think I have located the owners of this poor little cat.  He was a much loved boy who has a twin bro who is missing him loads.  He was chipped so if the COuncil had carried scanners his owners wouldn't have had to wait two weeks to hear his fate.  How sad for them all:(

Another victim of that demon road next to my house.  RIP Little cat safe at Rainbow Bridge and well done to the man who moved you from the road
