Its a shame the bloods didn't show up something simple, but keeping fingers crossed that this is just a minor blip and the Metacam helps

That's right, Pep's was about 30 last time and it was fine, they aimed for below about 50.  Sorry you've not got a simple answer,  good luck with Metacam and hope weight doesn't fall anymore

My cats are never simple, his t4 has come back very normal, its 31 and needs to be over 60 to be high so not even a higher end of normal  :(
Was so hoping a straight forward illness, back to worrying about the dreaded lymphoma again  :(

As all bloods are 100% we are going to try metacam to see if extra grumpy is down to his stiff hip and monitor weight as has lost a little.

fingers crossed for his bloods, and I hope his nose doesnt change - Pebbles had steroid jabs for her pre-cancerous scabs, which really helped - she had 3 jabs, then I left it, as it had gone, and it took quite a few months to show up again, but by that point she was bad with her tum.
Please spay your cat

Jane, hes approaching 13  :Luv2:

getting a little older then, the reason I ask is grumpy and the type of fur you describe can be thyroid probs, that's happened with a couple of mine but there would usually be other symptoms too.  It can though, as I'm sure you'll know also happen when they're off it for other reasons too

Spot on! Hyper t was one one thing that had passed through my mind along with the normal worries of it being something sinister.
My vet could feel a goitre in Gooeys neck so he is running normal bloods plus a t4 test to confirm what he has felt.
The black spot on his nose needs to be kept an eye on, theres options when it changes but for now we just monitor.

If it turns out to be that at least he'll be getting some treatment soon.  Hope the nose problem doesn't become an issue either

Hes a difficult cat to understand so i am airing on the side of caution, he was looking good coat wise so a change there is noticeable. I cleaned his nose of dirt, one bit has returned in the same spot so the rest was old food  :innocent:
He doesnt use a tray but i do spy on him outside and dig up what he does  :evillaugh: no problems with his digestion

Hes having a check up tomorrow, i want the teeny black spot on his nose checked out as i worry he has SCC there  :scared:
He has been different just lately, more grumpy (i never thought it possible!) at meal times and his coat is going clumpy so i want a through checkover to make sure theres nothing amiss :(
