Thanks guys,

I was very concerned as Frankie is a big healty cat and it was great to have him checked over with such a positive result. It sure is easier to get the paste in his mouth with two pairs of hands. I told him that the vet was a very nice man and I could see him look at me as if to say "that's okay for you to say, you've not just had a thermometer shoved up your bottom mate!!".

Will you be around if I call you tonight chuck?.

Cheers

Leigh

Thanks, I am delighted with that, he hasn't been to a vet in the last three years that I have had him but always a worry with FIV that it wasn't something else.

Cheers

Hi folks,

Frankiie had been sick three times over the weekend, slightly off his food and had diahorhia. I took him to the vet yesterday evening and the vet (to my intense relief) checked him over and said he was in excellent condition. He is treating it as a non-FIV-related tummy bug and he has proscribed three (tiny) anti-biotic tablets 1 1/2 two times a day, two days worth of sensitivity food and some pro-biotic paste in a large syringe to squirt in his mouth to calm his tummy. He has some dental decay but nothing that is related to his tummy problems.

I was delighted that the vet said he was in such an excellent condition and Frankie was as good as god, he only miaowed a few times on the way to and from the vets.

All the best
