yes sometimes takes me half an hour or so  but if it means getting free delivery its worth it, esp for me as i have to travel to a good supermarket which would cost prob around £10 atleast (esp in my car  :wow:) Mind you often my charge is 5.99 as i get it on weekend but then i only pay 99p and not going to complain bout that.

i just wish asda would delivery to the same routes as tescos.

I got a tesco delivery on friday (first time I've done my shopping online in ages but I realised it was a bit daft of me lugging tubs of cat litter home every week when I could have it delivered!) and I found some vouchers online.  I thinnk I googled tesco free delivery or tesco money off vouchers or something like that.  The first one (that said expired end of march) didn't work but the second one did and I got £5 off so it's certainly worth finding them.

i dont know why the 5 off ended so soon but i see you are getting triple clubcard points.

also re tesco, does everyone know to to to moneysavingexpert website and look for the tescos discount page, theres threads that run with up to date codes and i always get either 5 off which pays for my delivery or you get clubcard point codes..500 points = £5 !!

What's happened to the £5 off that Tesco were offering?  Last night the carriers were £13.97!  Wonder if Tesco has been reading this thread!

Dont' think they do them in pink, Cathy.  The original colours were blue, red, yellow and grey.  The grey one I have is nicer than I thought it would be looking at the original pics on the web.  Not sure if they've changed them as I thought the base was dark grey but it's actually black (on mine at least) so it's black and grey.

These carriers look very good - I'm in the market for a new carrier for Biscuit - daft question but do you reckon they do them in pink !!! I know I know someone will hate me wanting a pink carrier but Princess Biscuit is a ickle girlie

Or has anyone ever seen a decent pink carrier, I'm not too fond of these sports holdall types that are in PAH, they don't look that sturdy.

I'd say they are medium to large size - just not jumbo size!  Mosi is a medium size cat (he's actually quite large for a somali which is a medium sized breed but he looks small next to Jaffa) and he fits in it comfortably.  I suppose it partly depends on how much room your cat likes to have.  I tend to like Jaffa to have enough room to stand up and turn around in, but I've read that cats often feel safer if they're more confined.  I think it would be big enough for most cats unless they're particularly large.

Assume these carriers are standard size...........just need to fit a "moggy" in....suppose it will be fine for Jet as she's smaller than Cruz..although Cruz is a pain in the  :censored: at the vets, goes back to being feral like and turns into a hissing machine  :shy:

They're a reasonable size, gill but probably not birman size!  The fact that the top is curved means that there's not as much room in them as a rectangular carrier.  I think it will be a tight squeeze with Jaffa who is a big cat as in long and tall (but not fluffy!) - not sure Sasa would get all that fur in!

Yeah, it's me that bought one last April, though mine is yellow and grey.

After nearly a year's use, no regrets whatsoever. Both my cats love it (I only have the one, but may get one from Tesco - it is the same and £10 cheaper than what I paid at Scampers) and it's done many a mile to shows, including the Supreme. It sits snugly in the front seat of my car, belts in easily and is comfy enough for Pearl for long journeys. and clips aside, it is very sturdy.

The only downsides to it is that the handle digs into my hand for a while and that the porthole in the top is actually big enough for Pearl to squeeze through, so I need to be very careful when I open the hatch.

I've not seen any other exhibitors using this carrier, but the duty vets and stewards at shows love it because it is easy to remove a cat from and also to put the cat back in it. I've had loads of positive comments about it.

Planning on triplets Helen?  :evillaugh:

I will definately get one - Hopefully it will strap into the car. As much for the moving Sharon's cats around as for mine. Kent seems to be full of winding lanes that are quite scary at the best of times, without trying to hold onto a cat basket with one hand

I bought a sports bag type carrier from PAH about 6 months ago - it's only been used 3 or 4 times and the zip has gone already so it's unusable  >:(
You know when you close the zip and the other end opens. Even if you manage to fix it, it could happens again so not worth chancing it.

What a cool piece of kit.

I hate the one we have for Paddy.  It's a wee bit small, and it's fiddly to get the door opened and stuff.  You can open either end, but it's still a bit of a fight getting him in and out.  He hates it too!  The one we had before was even worse - it was plastic and bent and flexed a lot, plus it left any cat feeling very exposed.

Mark, Lynn's just posted on another thread about Tesco direct having a new catalogue out, they have the Avior (well it doesn't say it's made by Avior but it looks identical to mine) reduced to £13.97 - bargain!

I got mine from here (so did Susanne) http://www.petfayre-reading.co.uk/index.htm

It's an actual petshop in Reading, not a mail order company but the owner, Janet, is unbelievably helpful.  Give them a ring and she can post one out to you (if she's got any left!) I paid over the phone with a card.  I haven't found anywhere else in the UK that sells them and trust me I did a lot of googling for one

I need to get one of those. When I was taking Stanley to the cattery, a silly woman holding a large painting stepped out into the road without looking. I had to slam the brakes on and the carrier slid off the seat and poor stanley bumped onto the floor. It could have been worse. I can't see on the thread where to get one - Am I blind or simple?

I got mine from the same place, Helen.  The lady there - Janet - was very helpful.

I've had my other carriers since Jaffa was a kitten (he's nearly 10 now) - in fact I still have the one I bought to bring him and Magpie home from the rescue - and both are broken requiring string to hold them together so I think I was due a new one!  Going to see how Jaffa gets on with it when he next goes to the vet but I think it may be too small for longer journeys.  When he goes to the cattery it's a 40 min journey and he usually does a poo in his carrier   He's very good at not lying in it though and his existing carrier is big enough for him to do that so I don't want to get anything too small for him.  So he may need a bigger one.

The Lidl one has a seatbelt securer and two openings too. They had them in about three colours and they fold up pretty compact for a carrier the size they are. I've seen smaller versions of them in petshops selling for £40!

I do like the Avior carrier though.

Ooh, I forgot - it's also got  a 'porthole' on the top so you can put your hand in to stroke/comfort them while you're waiting at the vets.

yes ok i can see why it would be better than old style ones and i think having a seat belt clip like helen mentioned is FAB. i always try to secure the normal type somehow with a seatbelt but its never ideal.

If i needed to replace mine i'd perhaps get one but not gonna replace the normal style one i have until its dead  (the carrier that is not any of me cats )

I've got the Avior too  ;D  In fact, I liked it so much I bought another one 'just in case'!   The thing I like most about them is that they have a seatbelt clip so you can strap the basket in, it's also got two openings so no 'shaking' the cat out of the basket at the vets  :evillaugh:

I scoured the country for one after seeing Reynard's as they are like gold dust in the UK and someone from CC found them in a pet shop local to them in Reading.  It's not an online shop so I rang the petshop up and the owner couldn't have been more helpful, mine was £23 + p&p which was about another £5.
