They don't use the ruddy brains they were born with.  I've even heard animal lovers come out with stupid statements like that and then they've said - 'oh, I never thought' .

I always knew I would be bad when anything happened to Smudge but I never thought I would be depressed for so long and away from work for 5 months.

I think my jokes about career academics are hugely amusing too  ;

I only know the one "Those who can't, teach"  :evillaugh:
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

I would have a word too.  Illness of a dependent or bereavement are generally classed as extenuating circumstances.

I think she is a died-in-the-wool biologist. She got really wound up about anthropomorphism* today expecially where dressing up dogs in clothes etc was concerned.

*I had to go and look it up in my notes  :evillaugh:

Our cell biology lecturer was talking about assignment due dates etc. She said late work will not be accepted unless there are extenuating circumstances. These will need to be verified by a doctor's letter or other form of official document. They are go through he University of Greenwich rather than Hadlow so excuses like MY CAT DIED will not be swallowed >:(
