Just wanted to post a note about a very special cat in my life, Jarvis. Jarvis is my stepdaughter's cat and really the cat that got me into "cats". When Mike and I moved back to his home, Elizabeth and Jarvis were living with us and Jarvis was the first cat I had lived with since I had been about five.
He was a marvellous big black and white fella that Mike and Elizabeth had from the age of 8 weeks old, having seen him a day or two after he was born, as his mother belonged to Mike's secretary at the time.
When Elizabeth and Jarvis moved out I missed having Jarvis around. When our neighbour's cat had kittens, I pestered Mike and Nicadeamus, our first cat, entered our lives. The rest, as they say, is history.
So it was Jarvis that started my mad catwoman life off.
Unfortunately, earlier this year, at the age of 16, Jarvis was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and was put on medication to deal with it. On Thursday he suffered catastrophic kidney failure and died overnight at the Vets.
Rest in Peace Big fella - thank you for showing me how wonderful cats are - and thank from all the furbabes past and present at Eight Lives Left - without you in the first instance many would not have made it as far as they have.
