I hate Frontline day too. Bilbo isn't usually too bad but Pinball has to be pinned down by my OH for me to do it as I'm not strong enough and the girls hate it and wriggle and go nutty.

Luckily when it comes to worming the girls are very good and eat their Milbemax or Drontal from the floor, Bilbo gets his coated in wet food then I lodge him between my knees to get it down him and I get OH to help pin Pinball down again!

I do my 11 on different days over a week or so if they need it, as they are all pretty close and always washing each other, so I have to try and pick a couple at a time that arent as close so they won't be washing each other and getting the stuff in their mouths. I don't use flea stuff monthly though and I've rarely seen fleas on mine and never seen a tick (well not for years). I had to deflea them when BB came back in December, as she brought some little visitors with her LOL!  :evillaugh:

I have never seen fleas on any of ours but becuase they go outside ticks are my main worry,   my problem is with 11 cats,  if one got fleas then it would spread like wildfire so I have to take prevention methods rather than cure.   Mind you where do fleas come from ?,  silly question but are cat fleas only caught from other cats ?,  because if so my cats def wont have them as they dont come in contact with any other cats at all.

I dont do any of that, they get wormed once a year at the vets and thats it!

If we have a flea then out comes the stronghold but thats the only time.......gonna try and get Sasa done at the vets if we get there nexr week cos she had fleaa last year and pased then on but vet gave a big doise of stronghold cos normal one wasnt enough.

Same here, and none of ours have ever had fleas only our Squeaky when we first adopted him as a kitten and after quick spray none next day.

Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

Frontline day is nothing in my house compared to chicken-medicating! :evillaugh: The last time my girls were ill, I remember trying to syringe antibiotics down each one, in the dark, in my pjs! At 6am to try and catch them before they were fully awake. Then I was unsure of which ones still needed some, cos they all kept moving around  Not for the faint-hearted and I soon gave up and put it in their food.

At least you do cats and dogs in the warm where the neighbours cant see what you are up to.

I`m not known as "mad chicken woman" for nothing

Now worming cats - that`s entertaining!

Believe it or not its actually not to bad in our house, even Blackie gets done and although that would result in a claw mark you just have to make that a quickey!  :innocent:

It used to be a big kerfuffle for me and I would end up aching and out of breath from fighting with Riley in particular, he's so strong and used to rear up like a horse on the work surface.  I changed tactics and am now very firm, I snatch them up, go straight to the kitchen where the waiting pipette is open, close the door, wedge cat under my left arm, part fur with my left hand and squirt with my right - it's over in seconds with no wounds  :evillaugh:

Imagine a 6 year old Labrador that just vanishes when you think for once you opened that Frontline thing unnoticed.
A 6 year old Labrador that is shaking so hard people would think you were trying to kill her.
A 6 year old Labrador that reduces herself to about a quarter of her size.

We don't hate Frontline day, we look forward to it, it's a guarantee for a fun moment

(but some of the cats give us hard times and bleeding arms)
Every life should have 9 cats

It was frontline day today here and i hate it,   I get scratched,  I get hissed at and I get ignored for days afterwards,   they are now all out (apart from Ripley who had stronghold at the vets) and I dont expect them in for a few hours !!     worse than being married having cats !
